An unstable man with a history of violence, and on probation for beating an EMT unconscious, unleashed terror at a Chicago Target after being caught trying to steal a phone charger and resisting detainment by security.
Roman Butler is accused of attacking and slashing a security guard with a large kitchen knife to the extent that the victim required twenty stitches to close the wound.
“A man on probation for beating an EMT unconscious is now accused of stabbing a security guard with a large kitchen knife while trying to shoplift at a Target store in the Loop,” CWB Chicago’s Twitter account captioned to go along with an article of the increasingly-common urban insanity.

In their article, CWB Chicago wrote that security noticed Butler’s attempted robbery and intervened. At first, everything seemed fine, as the criminal thug agreed to go with them to a booking room. However, as the group approached their destination all hell broke loose.
CWB continued:
Store security guards stopped Butler as he prepared to walk out with the item, and Butler agreed to accompany them to the store’s booking room, Konetzki continued.
But when they reached the security office, Butler refused to go inside. He began throwing shoplifted items out of his backpack, and the security officers told him to leave, said Konetzki.
Instead of leaving, Butler pulled a large kitchen knife from his waistband, removed it from its sheath, and charged at two of the guards, Konetzki said. The blade slashed the arm of a 25-year-old security officer.
Butler charged at the guards again but finally put the knife away and tried to leave, but he became trapped in the revolving door, according to Koneztki. Chicago police officers found him stuck inside the door when they arrived.
Somehow, despite this violent encounter leading the story, it is perhaps not even the worst thing Butler has done in the past few weeks. The account of his beating a young EMT senseless is hard to read.
“While a student EMT tried to treat Butler’s unspecified physical injuries [while aboard the CTA], Butler kicked him in the head and body so many times that the EMT lost consciousness, Konetzki said. Butler continued to kick him while he was down, causing him to suffer a concussion,” CWB Chicago wrote.
This guy is truly a monster and belongs in prison for his entire life. But since he lives in Chicago – homeless and black, no less – it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that he’s back on the streets with more probation where he can harm more citizens.
And Butler’s story isn’t the only knife attack to have occurred recently in woke blue city centers. The American Tribune also just reported on a deadly knife attack by a repeat offender that left a Los Angeles father dead.
“A Los Angeles father was allegedly stabbed to death last month by a woman w/ a violent history of using knives. She had multiple arrests, including violent felonies, but always avoided prison under prosecutions by LA DA Gascon & received diversion or release instead,” Fox News Melugin wrote on Twitter.
“In March 2023, while still on diversion from her first knife attack, Brookfield was arrested again for another felony assault with deadly weapon after I’m told she repeatedly swung a knife at a bus driver who missed her exit. Inexplicably, she was then ordered released from custody with an ankle monitor. That decision had deadly consequences,” he added.

Melugin finished his thread by commenting on the tragedy that befell Banner, saying:
“Just weeks after her release, in April, Brookfield was arrested again for murder, after sources tell me she fatally stabbed a man named Dennis Banner during an argument in a street. Her diversion has now been terminated, and only now is she finally being held in custody.”
