Hollywood Star Opens Up About Letting Jesus In During Marriage Woes

Star actress Chynna Phillips gave an inspiring talk about the importance of accepting Jesus Christ into a marriage to make the matrimony last for a lifetime. She spoke openly about her relationship with Billy Baldwin and discussed how her faith in The Lord allowed her to overcome times when she let anger or vitriol toward her lawfully wedded husband.

Phillips talked in a long-form YouTube video that she posted on her own page, titled Chynna Phillips Baldwin. For over 45 minutes, she discusses the struggles in her marriage and how faith became the rock upon which she began to rebuild all of her relationships. The video, which is posted below, is titled “Opening Up About My Private Life.”

She started by discussing the disbelief that she felt when she realized that her mind and soul had become resentful, holding onto anger and becoming a person that she never thought she could become. Phillips was bitter, and as a first step of climbing out of that hole of discontent, she began turning to Jesus.

The Christian Post offered a detailed transcript of the key points of the video. Phillips said, “I made a commitment to God that I was going to radically surrender to Him and that I was going to give Him all of my anger and bitterness … and resentment. And that I wasn’t going to make it an idol anymore and that I was going to leave it in the tomb.”

She then opened up about struggles that she and Billy have been combatting. After more than 30 years of marriage, she is now praying that they can both find themselves in the same place with their faith so that they can rekindle that love in what has been a tough last few years.

She said, “It’s a primary relationship and when that relationship starts to feel ruptured or damaged, or it starts to feel a little uneasy, that can be terrifying. I’ve been with Billy for 32 years. But we definitely had the hardest couple years of our lives.”

Continuing, she explained, “These past couple of years have been a real struggle. And I think it’s because … I just took the deep dive into Jesus, and I think that he didn’t quite know what to do with that because it was kind of all Jesus, all the time.”

Phillips also shrared an inspiring message about letting go and giving one’s struggles and tribulations to God. To her, a big mistake that she made in life was attempting to take control of everything and solve her problems without help from her Creator.

She said, “I just want us to stop and say, ‘OK God, You’re God. You’re going to do this. I am going to stop. I’m going to be still and I’m going to remember that you are God and that you are sovereign and that you are going to hear my prayer. And therefore, I give you this gigantic, painful, overwhelming, terrible burden … that I’ve been carrying around for too long.”
