In today’s America, many people across the country are taking precautions to protect themselves and their families from potential social unrest. Now, Hollywood star Josh Duhamel has admitted that he too, has become a prepper as the possibility of a doomsday-style breakdown of society looms.
Duhamel, who starred in movies including “Transformers,” admitted in an interview that he has begun building a remote North Dakota compound to defend himself and his family during potentially bad times to come. In an interview, Duhamel told Inverse that he has “become a bit of a doomsday prepper.” He also added:
“It started with one little cabin in the woods with no electricity and no water. We would go and we didn’t wanna stay for more than a day or two. You could tell the mice had overrun it. It was disgusting.
“Then, the cabin on the property next to that one went up for sale, and I bought it for like nothing; this beautiful little idyllic cabin on the water. Suddenly I had 54 acres out there. So I had two cabins, one with no electricity or water. They both have wells and electricity now, but they’re both really small.
“We shaped the land. We created trails through it. I’m actually growing crops out there.”
Duhamel also talked about how he became so interested in doomsday prepping. He says that it began when he read the book Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse. After that, he knew he needed to take steps to protect his family. He said:
“And then there was a movie or book about these guys who had this little community where everybody had their own specialty. One was weapons, one was canning, one was construction, one was medical. And if you didn’t have something to bring to the group, you were out. I’m not saying I’m that crazy about it, but it is a comforting feeling knowing that I could survive out there.”
“I’m working on those skills. I wouldn’t call myself an expert or a survivalist by any means, but I’m getting better at it.”
Duhamel is also promoting his new comedy called Buddy Games: Spring Awakening, which he says will poke fun at the “extreme wokeness” that is present in modern media. He said:
“The whole intention behind the first movie and then now this one was just to have fun. I wanted to make an unapologetic hard-hitting comedy where people watched it and said, ‘Holy sh*t, I can’t believe they just went there.’ Those guys don’t pull punches.”
Given that he is promoting this new film, it seems clear that Duhamel does not see American society coming to an end anytime soon. But, even if he doesn’t think it will happen, he is making sure to take as many precautions as he can should his family need to quickly escape from Los Angeles. And, the property seems to be serving as a getaway vacation spot right now. Josh has hooked the house up with television and the internet, thanks to Starlink being released by Elon Musk.
