Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential election, in part, due to her comment that half of Donald Trump’s would-be voters could be placed in a basket of deplorables while assigning them various epithets like racist, sexist, and bigoted. That, and people just see her as the nasty witch that she is.
Now, with her ego permanently bruised from losing from that election cycle, she has no reason to reflect on how she’s perceived by most warm bodies and is doubling down on her aspersions toward conservative Americans.
Appearing on Joy Reid’s MSNBC show “The Reid Out” – which Tucker Carlson risibly but eerily likened to Hutu Radio – Clinton lashed out with more insults and derision against everyday folks who don’t share her leftist worldview.
There’s always been a streak of violence, of racism, misogyny, antisemitism, as you have said. But I think what we’re seeing today — and it has certainly been thrown into very high relief by the horrific attack on Paul Pelosi, is not just an aberration, where one or two people or a small group engage in that kind of violent rhetoric and urge people to take action against political figures like her, like me, like others.
We’re seeing a whole political party and those who support it, those who enable it, those who run under its banner engaging in behavior that is so dangerous and I find, frankly, disqualifying for people who are running for office.
And Clinton was just getting started:
I think that with all of the noise that we’ve gotten in this election season I don’t think that people are really able to grasp that. But more importantly, I’m not sure they really understand the threats to their way of life. They may think that whoever’s chairing a committee, you know, kind of abstract. But the Republicans in the House and others like the chair of the Republican Senate Campaign Committee [Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla.] are on record saying they’re going to put Social Security and Medicare up for a vote.
You heard that correctly; Clinton thinks freedom is under assault if you want to vote out the people that gave us inoperative, perhaps dangerous, vaccines and tried mandating their injections into every last American. Forced business closures, lockdowns, social distancing, and masks did nothing to prevent the flow of the aerosolized virus, yet they enacted these draconian impositions with glee, all while evading the measures for themselves.
This is to say nothing of glee for censorship on Big Tech platforms, which are an affront to decency and democratic principles. And yet here was Clinton, gaslighting with the best of them. She continued:
Now I don’t understand why every American, not just people eligible for those two programs that they have paid into that they have worked hard for, that they have earned, are not up in arms. We’ve got lots of problems right now in our country. We need sensible people to come together to try and solve them. The last thing we need is to make life even harder for the vast majority of Americans because it’s not just seniors who would have Medicare and Social Security on the chopping block. It would be their children and their grandchildren who would have to step in and fill the hole that they had left.
Apparently, the issue of abortion wasn’t working, so in the las few weeks Dems have pivoted to pretending that Republicans will erase basic safety nets. For one, that is just a lie. For another, is cutting government spending such a bad thing? Clinton then continued the talking point that Republicans are the party of violence, ignoring the summer of 2020 and various assaults on congressmen on the other side of her aisle.
I didn’t see a big outpouring on the part of elected officials to stand with Nancy Pelosi the way she has stood with Republicans as well as Democrats in times of real terror like on Jan. 6. So ask yourselves, please, why would you entrust power to people who they themselves are unable to see how terrible it is that someone may be attacked in their home or don’t really care because they somehow think it’ll get them votes or get them elected? This is a real threat to the heart of democracy
I know we’re all focused on the 2022 midterm elections, and they are incredibly important, but we also have to look ahead because, you know what, our opponents certainly are. Right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election, and they’re not making a secret of it.
To put the deceptive cherry on top, Clinton plants the seed that the elections won’t be fair and that there are plans to steal the next presidential election. Not that long ago, this language would get you removed from society and tarnished with the label “election denier.”
