Things are not looking good for infamous Swamp politicians like former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), as the fight surrounding former President Biden’s last-minute pardons, nearly all of which were signed with an autopen, escalates. It was Trump’s former Acting US Attorney for Washington, D.C., Ed Martin, who sparked renewed interest in the matter with a groundshaking tweet.
As background, a report from the Heritage Foundation revealed that former President Biden’s last-minute pardons of the members of the January 6 Committee, Dr. Fauci, and others had clearly been done with an autopen rather than the former president’s real signature, raising questions about their legitimacy.
President Trump, after the Heritage report emerged, announced that he would be considering those pardons “null and void” because of the autopen. That came in mid-March, when he announced, in a post on Truth Social, “The “Pardons” that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen. In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them! The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime. Therefore, those on the Unselect Committee, who destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level. The fact is, they were probably responsible for the Documents that were signed on their behalf without the knowledge or consent of the Worst President in the History of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden!”
Ed Martin, now the Trump DOJ’s pardon attorney, then raised speculation that action would be taken on that front during a press conference on Tuesday, May 13. He said, “I do think that the Biden pardons need some scrutiny. And they need scrutiny because we want pardons to matter and to be accepted and to be something that’s used correctly. So I do think we’re going to take a hard look at how they went and what they did.”
Continuing, he said, “If they’re null and void, I’m not sure how that operates, but I can tell you we’ve had already, I’ve had in my current position, or my position as US Attorney, we had been taking a look at some of the conduct surrounding the pardons and the Biden White House.”
That wasn’t the end of it. On Sunday, May 18, Martin took to X to vow that he would be taking action to get to the bottom of what happened, saying, “Dear Fellow Americans, The integrity of the American Pardon system requires that we examine the Biden pardons and who did what. We will get the bottom of it. Count on us. All the best.”
That, in turn, led to comments on X about what it going to happen to those who got the pardons that Trump is shredding. Paul Szypula, for example, a conservative personality on X, posted a picture of Martin’s tweet and captioned it by writing, “Hey @SenAdamSchiff and @Liz_Cheney, you’re in big trouble.”

Similarly, Jack Posobiec poked fun at Liz Cheney specifically, asking if her pardon would be valid if it turns out that Biden, as is suspected with the autopen matter, didn’t even know it was happening. He wrote, “Hi @Liz_Cheney! Is your pardon valid if the person whose name is on it had no idea it was being signed? Just checking!”
