As his potential Vice President picks bickered on the debate stage, much to the humiliation of Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson, former President Donald Trump and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson released an interview. One of the funnier moments in the interview came when Trump savaged Chris Wallace, a RINO former FNC host who Tucker used as a punching bag as well.
Trump, talking about Wallace, first brought up the presidential debate between himself and President Joe Biden in 2020, saying that Wallace was no friend of Tucker’s. In his words: “I said how come – and this was in front of, probably not a friend of yours – Chris Wallace, he was the moderator.” Tucker then interjected and agreed with him, saying, “Not a friend.”
Trump then got in a nice jab at Chris Wallace, saying that he wanted to be like his father, award-winning journalist Mike Wallace, but just doesn’t have the talent to be such a figure. Trump said, “I said ‘why is it he wants to be Mike, but he doesn’t have the talent?’”
Carlson, mocking Wallace, joked, “He’s a bitchy little man.” Trump didn’t disagree, adding again that Chris Wallace just doesn’t have the talent to be like his father. “He wanted to be his father but he didn’t have the talent of his father. His father was great,” Trump said.
Continuing on. Trump turned to the details of the 2020 debate and argued that Wallace was defending Joe Biden during the debate, saying, “Chris Wallace was so upset, he was guarding this guy.” He then gave an example of that and drew a laugh from Tucker by saying, “Remember when I asked a question — ‘why is it that the mayor of Moscow’s wife is allowed to give you $3.5-million-dollars… what did you ever do to deserve 3.5-million-dollars?’ To Biden. And Chris Wallace said, ‘this doesn’t – this has nothing to do with the debate.‘”
Referring to that moment and emphasizing that he was right about what Joe Biden was up to, Trump then said, “Now people forget that but you go back and take a look, and you will see. And Chris Wallace didn’t want me to ask that question.”
Trump isn’t the only one to reference his debate with Biden and the truthfulness of his claims recently. Somewhat surprisingly, CNN did as well, with Jake Tapper playing a clip of Trump, during the debate, saying, “He [Hunter] made a fortune in Ukraine, in China, in Moscow, and various other places.” Biden snapped, in resposne, “That is simply not true!”
After playing that clip, Tapper admitted the truth, which is that Trump was right: “Trump was right. I mean he [Hunter Biden] did make a fortune from China, and Joe Biden was wrong. I don’t know that he was lying about it. He might not have been told by Hunter, but this blind spot is a problem.”
