Actor Kevin Sorbo, most well-known for his starring role in the classic 1990s television series, Hercules, has officially had enough of California, stating during a recent interview with Fox News that after seven years of living in Florida, having left the Golden State in the rearview mirror, Sorbo said he has zero interest in ever returning out West and there are three reasons why: “Taxes, traffic, and negativity.”
Sorbo, who stars in a brand new faith-based film called Elijah Peel, stated that his move to the Sunshine State has given him what he said was nearly impossible to find in California, namely, acceptance. He told the news network that while he misses Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, his golf course, his old house and the state’s mild weather, the trade-offs simply aren’t worth it.
“I mean, here in Florida, yeah, we get five months of pretty high humidity. It’s pretty hot, but the winters here are really quite amazing,” Sorbo went on to explain during the interview. “But yeah, there are things I miss, but they can keep their taxes, they can keep their traffic, and they can keep their negativity, I’m done.”
According to Fox News, Sorbo’s exit from California was about a whole lot more than the need for a change of scenery. The Hercules actor stated that the indie film community has embraced him with open arms, with filmmakers and creators from all over the world making contact with him through his production company, Sorbo Studios.
“The people I’ve met here, the contacts I’ve met, it’s been incredible,” the actor stated. Sorbo then set his sights on the entertainment industry, which he claims has punished folks for holding certain political or religious views. Sorbo, who has been outspoken about both his faith and his politics, compared the way Hollywood treats conservatives and Christians to the kind of childish antics you see in schools.
“That’s why I find a lot of things in Hollywood, with their blacklisting people that have conservative or Christian viewpoints, I find it like they’re seventh grade mean girls,” Sorbo explained to Fox News Digital. “It’s just ridiculous and childish to me. We all have different opinions. There’s nothing wrong with that,” he added.
Sorbo also stated in the past that he has been “canceled” in the past for his point of view. However, he made it clear that the attempts by the radical left to silence his voice haven’t had the intended impact they were hoping for. Instead of staying quiet, he’s now challenging other conservatives in Hollywood to stop hiding.

“It’s the conservatives that are in the closet now because they saw me get canceled,” Sorbo went on to say. “But I’m still working.” Sorbo’s newest film, Elijah Peel, tells the story of a rock star whose sudden rise to the height of popularity, followed by struggles with addiction that begin to spiral after a near-fatal heart attack. A young girl’s faith forces him to confront the kind of lifestyle he’s indulged in for a long, long time. Sorbo plays the role of the main character’s talent agent.
