Joe Biden had his annual physical examination, and much to the surprise of anyone who has watched him walk or speak recently, the president received a clean bill of health from his official physician. Biden took Marine One to Walter Reed National Military Center for the examination, where the Democrat was shockingly called a “healthy, robust 81-year-old.”
Dr. Kevin O’Connor declared Biden fit to “successfully execute the duties of the presidency.” The results are no surprise, considering O’Connor is the official physician of the president and probably wants to maintain that role, but public perception is vastly different from O’Connor’s findings.
Watching Biden walk is an adventure, and his stumbles and falls seem to increase as his stride stiffens. O’Connor said that while his gait remains stiff, it “has not worsened” since last year. Again, it appears that it has by the casual observer, but the President’s doctor disagrees even if the stumbles have increased.
The official physical deemed that “President Biden is a healthy, active 81-year-old male, who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief.” Of course, the bar is already low in terms of how fit and active an 81-year-old should be, so while he is deemed normal for his age, many still consider him too old for the presidency.
Of particular concern is Biden’s mental health and fitness, but the White House declined to have the president take a cognitive test as part of his overall examination. Karine Jean-Pierre gave the expected remarks. She said: “I’m just gonna say what Dr. O’Connor said to me about a year ago when [Biden’s physical] was released. The president proves every day [in] how he operates and how he thinks, by dealing with world leaders, by making difficult decisions on behalf of the American people – whether it’s domestic or it’s national security.”
O’Connor claimed that Biden’s physical exam was “essentially unchanged from baseline.” He continued, “The President feels well and this year’s physical identified no new concerns.” Biden apologists blame the stiff gait and stumbles on the president’s arthritis, which the exam claimed: “The President’s arthritic changes remain moderate to severe, but still do not result in nerve root compression significant enough that they would warrant specific treatment.” The doctor talked about Biden’s use of CPAP technology for sleep. He continued: “The President’s arthritic changes remain moderate to severe, but still do not result in nerve root compression significant enough that they would warrant specific treatment.”
Despite what Biden’s doctor says, most folks believe he is too old for the job. An ABC/Ipsos poll claimed 86% of Americans think he is too old, with 73% being Democrat voters. While Trump is also quickly approaching 80, he appears much more focused, active, and healthy than Biden. Many question whether Joe Biden will live long enough to finish a second term and are terrified of the prospect of Kamala Harris being president.
It is no shock that the official physical smells like roses. Undoubtedly, Dr. O’Connor wants to keep his cushy gig serving the president, so a lousy exam would not play well. Americans often see better than they hear, and what they see is an old man struggling to talk and walk. November will be the real physical, and Americans may not return a good diagnosis for Joe Biden.
