“Guilty of Stolen Valor”: Ad Exposes Tim Walz’s Alleged Lies About Military Service [WATCH]

A recently released ad highlighted Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s alleged “stolen valor” and alleged lies regarding his military service.  After inconsistencies have been unearthed regarding Walz’s claims about his service in the National Guard, some voters have questioned his ability to represent the United States at the federal level.

The ad begins, “Tim Walz wants to be a heartbeat away from commander-in-chief, but Tim Walz has lied about his military record for years.”  The ad cut to the testimony of a retired command sergeant major claiming, “He’s due as the rank that he never achieved in order to advance his political career.” The narrator of the ad maintained, “Walz lied repeatedly about his rank,” before showing a compilation of clips where the Minnesota Governor claimed he was a “retired Command Sergeant Major.”

Furthermore, Walz has faced backlash for apparently lying about serving in active combat.  “Walz lied about being in combat,” the ad stated.  Reportedly, Walz had quit the National Guard to run for Congress just before his unit was given orders to deploy to Iraq.  Nonetheless, Walz has claimed that weapons that he “carried in war” must be taken off the streets.

The ad featured several clips of Walz stating, “Can make sure that those weapons of war that I carried in war.”  The ad then claimed, “Walz dodged deployment by retiring when he knew his National Guard unit was going to Iraq.”  Featuring more testimony from a retired command sergeant major, the ad continued, “Everybody knew who they were going to train and go to Iraq. The warning order basically stated it.  Two months later after he knew it, that’s when he retired.”

The ad further alleged, “Walz disparaged Minnesota National Guard soldiers… that same Minnesota National Guard that he disparaged, unlike Walz served heroically in Iraq and Afghanistan, Tim Walz is not fit to be anywhere near the office of Commander in Chief. Tim Walz is guilty of Stolen Valor.”

The ad circulated throughout social media sparking reactions from conservative users.  “Tim Walz said he served on “battlefields.” He was in the US and Europe. There have been no battlefields in Europe since WW II and in the United States since the Civil War. Walz said he used weapons “in war.” He never did. Democrats should change out Walz before the Convention,” one person wrote.

Others highlighted the concerning record demonstrated on the Harris/Walz ticket.  “He’s also an avowed socialist. The Kamala/Walz administration would completely doom this country. We have two choices in November. This country can either go with an administration ( Trump/Vance) that wants peace, prosperity, lower taxes, a strong military, no wars, strong men, protecting the Constitution, closed border, protecting women & girls, faith, family & freedom etc. Or an administration (Kamala/Walz) that wants chaos, destruction, higher taxes, sexualizing children, a demoralized military, foreign wars, weak men, refusing to protect women & girls, obliterating the Constitution, destroying faith, family, & our freedom, open borders, criminals, & lawlessness,” another user wrote.
