Chris Pratt has remained unwavering throughout his career when it comes to proudly flaunting his Christian Faith to fans and the media. This year, Pratt has remained devout and has not shied away from openly discussing his struggles as a Christian Hollywood star.
Pratt spoke to Page Six regarding his faith and the obstacles that he has been forced to negotiate due to it. When asked if he faces any hate due to his religious beliefs, Pratt replied:
“I sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?”
Pratt then quoted scripture to drive home the point that hate from others should never dictate one’s religious leanings, saying. “if I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20.”
“That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too.”
Pratt recently came under fire after a 2019 report resurfaced claiming that the star was a member of a staunchly anti-LGBT church. According to Fox News, the actor responded:
“It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates a certain group of people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone.”
“My faith is important to me but no church defines me or my life.”
Pratt said in his Page Six interview that he has an obvious plan to ignore the haters. He said
“Oh, just how you deal with anything. Like a rhino, stick your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin and if anyone gets in your way, you stick the horn right up their ass!”
“Guardians of the Galaxy” director came to the defense of Pratt regarding that accusations, saying:
“For what? Because of your made-up, utterly-false beliefs about him? For something that someone else told you about him that’s not true? Chris Pratt would never be replaced as Star-Lord but, if he ever was, we would all be going with him.”
This isn’t the first time that Pratt has run afoul of the liberals who demand to be sheltered from Christian beliefs. He also angers leftists after giving a political endorsement to Rick Caruso in the race for Los Angeles Mayor, according to The American Tribune saying:
“I’ve lived in LA for over 20 years. It’s been great to me. In that time I’ve seen what many residents here have seen, the city’s gradual decline into pain and utter disarray. If you live here, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
“I don’t normally support political candidates. But in this election, there’s too much to lose. If you’re an LA voter, I urge you to vote for @rickcarusola. He’s a builder. He knows how to get s*** done. He’s the guy for our city. Rick Caruso for LA Mayor.”
