A new ad recently exposed Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz’s leadership as the governor of Minnesota. Walz has received criticism for his record in governing Minnesota, particularly in the summer of 2020 when rioters looted and burned the city of Minneapolis in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
In a new ad that has been released ahead of the election, the testimony of a retired member of the Minneapolis Police Department reveals the stunning reality of Walz’s incompetence, drawing into question his viability to serve as the vice president. “Rioters set this Minneapolis police station on fire, trying to burn me and my fellow police officers alive. Governor Tim Walz left us for dead,” Paul said. “And Kamala Harris?” he further asked.
The ad cut to a clip of Harris speaking, in which she seemingly marveled at the power behind the violent protests, refusing to condemn what was taking place during the summer of 2020. “This is a movement, I’m telling you. Everyone beware. They’re not going to let up and they should not,” Harris said in the clip. Paul further criticized Harris for her actions to support rioters and the Defund the Police movement, stating, “She raised millions to help bail rioters out of jail and supported defunding the police. Kamala sold cops out and put families at risk. Kamala Harris is too weak and too dangerous to be president.”
Users on social media reacted to the ad, praising it for exposing information that American voters should be concerned about. “Great ad out of Wisconsin from Preserve America PAC demonstrating the pure incompetence of Walz. “Gov Walz left us for dead,” conservative commentator Juanita Broaddrick wrote on X, sharing the ad.
“Boom! Preserve America PAC nails it! Governor Walz’s failures are staggering. From rising crime to crumbling education, Minnesotans deserve better. President Trump delivered for Wisconsin and Minnesota, and we need leaders who share his America-First vision. Time to hold Walz accountable and elect leaders who truly care about the Heartland!” another person wrote in the comments section.
Explaining why Trump is a superior candidate, another person commented, “Trump has promised to eliminate taxes on Social Security. Kamala has promised ILLEGAL migrants they will get Social Security even though they never paid into it. Clearly, Trump is better for Senior Citizens, especially those who have been crushed by Biden/Harris inflation.”
The American Tribune recently reported on a major fact-check against a comment of Walz’s in which he suggested that Trump had lost more manufacturing jobs than any president. “Donald Trump lost more manufacturing jobs than any president in American history. That’s simply factual,” Walz said. However, the comment was so false that even CNN had to weigh in and set the record straight.
Watch the ad below:
CNN analyst Daniel Dale addressed Walz’s claim, explaining how there is no truth to Walz’s statement about Trump’s economic record. “Well, if you’re going to say something is simply factual, it should be factual. This is not. It’s not true that the Trump presidency lost more manufacturing jobs than any other presidency,” he said.
Citing the historical facts, Dale continued,“Under George W. Bush, there were about 4.5 million manufacturing jobs lost.” He added, “Under Trump, it was about 178,000. There are also more manufacturing jobs lost, than under Trump, under Eisenhower, under Ford, under Reagan, so Trump does not have the record.”
Importantly, Dale noted that most of Trump’s job losses occurred because of the pandemic at the end of his presidency. “I think it’s also worth pointing out for context that these Trump job losses in manufacturing overwhelmingly occurred because of the COVID pandemic. Pre-pandemic under Trump, there was a gain of about 414,000 manufacturing jobs,” he said.
