As allegations swirl about Fani Willis’ misdeeds, particularly her hiring of her lover, Nathan Wade, as one of the prosecutors in the Trump case, numerous GOP politicians are demanding that Georgia Governor Brain Kemp put aside his dislike of Donald Trump and act to hold Fulton County DA Willis accountable for her alleged misdeeds.
Among those doing so was Ohio Sen. JD Vance, who posted on X in response to a report from Politico and tweet about it from the House Judiciary Committee that Wade had been held in contempt by a court in 2023. The tweet said, “Fani Willis’s “friend,” Nathan Wade, was held was held in contempt last year because he disobeyed a court order. How can anyone trust her office?”
Posting about that on X, Vance said, “This is a joke. A discredited divorce attorney who happens to be sleeping with the DA is now running the Georgia prosecution of Donald Trump? I don’t care how much @BrianKempGA hates Trump. He needs to step in and do something.”
Vance isn’t the only one. Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene did as well, writing a letter to Gov. Kemp in which she detailed the allegations against DA Willis and then demanded an investigation, writing, “I request you order the immediate and formal criminal investigation into the alleged criminal misconduct by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, along with her special Trump prosecutor and alleged boyfriend Nathan Wade, pursuant to your authority under Georgia statute.”
Speaking to Breitbart about her demand for a criminal investigation, Green said, “This isn’t political at all. There’s clear evidence that alleges Fani Willis and her top prosecutor, who was apparently her lover, Nathan Wade, have broken multiple lawsuits, and the evidence is pouring out people have been posting and all over social media.”
Continuing, Rep. Greene said that she has “high expectations” for Governor Kemp and AG Christ Carr to initiate an investigation into Willis. “I really have high expectations of Governor Kemp and our Attorney General Chris Carr,” Greene stated. “There should be a criminal investigation.” However, she added, “If he [Kemp] ignores this, then he’s showing an extreme political bias.”
Further, in a tweet on the matter, Rep. Greene said, “I just sent a criminal referral requesting an immediate investigation into Fani Willis and her alleged secret boyfriend, Nathan Wade, to Gov. Brian Kemp and AG Chris Carr. Georgians are sick and tired of Fani using her office to go after Joe Biden’s top political opponent rather than going after real crime in Georgia.”
On the commentariat side, Clay Travis said, in a tweet demanding that Gov. Kemp get involved in holding Willis accountable, “Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has to begin a full investigation into Fani Willis and, if these allegations are true, she and her entire prosecutorial team must be removed, charges must be dropped, & criminal charges against Willis and Wade may very well be appropriate.”
