GOP Congressman Introduces “MAMDANI Act” to Denaturalize and Deport Marxists and Islamists

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) is introducing a new bill that will make major changes to immigration law in order to help preserve the safety of Americans by deporting and denaturalizing or denying U.S. citizenship to any alien who is part of a socialist party, a communist party, the Chinese Communist Party, or Islamic fundamentalist party, or who advocates in any way for the ideology of socialism, communism, Marxism, or Islamic fundamentalism.

The new bill, known as the MAMDANI Act, also helps establish new definitions for each of the terms mentioned above and also repeals current loopholes such as chain migration and fraudulent claims that exist in current immigration law and have facilitated the mass importation of both Marxists and Islamists. “Why do we continue to import people who hate us?” Roy asked in a press release concerning the legislation.

“Not just for the last six years, but for the last 60 years, our immigration system has been cynically used to disadvantage American workers’ competitiveness in favor of mass-importing the third world. This has not just led to higher crime and lower wages, but also the promulgation of hostile ideologies fundamentally opposed to American values,” Roy continued in the release.

“By targeting the Red-Green Alliance, this legislation deploys new tools to fight back against the Marxist and Islamist advance that has devastated Europe and has now arrived on our doorstep, especially in my home state of Texas,” Congressman Roy explained. Grant Newman, Director of Government Relations, Immigration Accountability Project, also released a short statement about the MAMDANI Act.

“Admission to the United States is a privilege, not a right. We have absolutely no obligation to open our doors to aliens who seek to undermine the Constitution, dismantle our republic, or champion ideologies fundamentally opposed to American liberties. A sovereign nation must prioritize its own survival and the safety of its citizens above all else. IAP is proud to stand with Congressman Roy in this effort,” Newman said.

According to Breitbart News, Roy’s office provided a one-page summary of the MAMDANI Act that specifically points to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, saying that “the very presence of Zohran Mamdani and those like him who champion Marxist ideologies” clearly illustrates how the immigration system “enables the mass importation of Marxists and Islamists.”

This isn’t the first time Roy has introduced a bill designed to protect America from the outside influence of ideologies that threaten the American way of life. In October 2025, Roy presented the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act, which would ban foreign nationals who observe Sharia law from coming into and staying within the United States.

Roy stated at the time that Sharia law is not compatible with “our Judeo-Christian-founded Western civilization laws,” warning that if the United States did not take action, it could face similar conditions to those in Europe, where Muslim migrants have infiltrated many countries and have been working toward making them majority Muslim nations and governments. The Texas Republican told Breitbart at the time that there is a significant and growing presence” of people who adhere to Sharia law.
