Much to the excitement but also the fury of MAGA conservatives, Miles Bruner, a veteran GOP fundraiser and infamous RINO, publicly left the Republican Party, complaining about its descent into so-called authoritarianism under Donald Trump’s influence. MAGA Republicans were generally glad to see him go, but annoyed that such a turncoat had been in a prominent position within the ranks for so long.
Announcing his decision to drop out of the party in a melodramatic op-ed he wrote for the Bulwark, an anti-Trump outlet, Bruner expressed regret for supporting the GOP and described the party as a “cult of personality” mirroring authoritarian regimes of the past. As could be expected, when the article was posted to social media, conservatives were enraged by his treachery, prompting Bruner to delete his account in shame or fear.
In the initial article for the Bulwark, the RINO dramatically penned, “I can no longer be an accomplice to the GOP’s descent into authoritarianism. I just turned my back on a 12-year career in the Republican ecosystem, and I urge anyone else who harbors doubts to do the same.”
Building on this point, the nasty RINO-turned-outright Democrat Miles Bruner indulgently alleged, “Since Donald Trump descended that golden escalator in 2015, the Republican party has devolved into a cult of personality that mirrors the worst authoritarian regimes of the last one hundred years.”
And, later on, wrapping up his comments, the traitorous RINO told the Bulwark’s readers, “The January 6th insurrection wasn’t enough for me to leave…I wish I had realized this sooner…Today, I quit allowing my complacency to destroy America, and I urge you to quit, too…I’d like to think there’s more like me.”

Reacting to this pathetic article, X posters and commenters went nuclear. One such poster noted, “Miles Bruner, a loser, has written his ‘wah’ article for The Bulwark (naturally), and he has a Ukraine flag in his bio (naturally), and he lives in DC (naturally). And that’s it, that’s his legacy.” Summing up a common reaction, another added “Good Riddance,” along with other insults.
Another, expressing skepticism at this story’s sudden rise to fame, asked, “Have you EVER heard of Miles Bruner before today? If anyone in the GOP fundraising circles has, it would be y’all. Call me crazy, but I’m a little skeptical of the ‘top GOP strategist’ claim.”
Equally annoyed, another angry poster went on the attack against Bruner’s background and outright lies in the article. That poster said, “This guy was never a conservative, and this is how we know. Because for all his disgusting warts, Trump never said there were fine people among the Jew haters; he said the opposite. The full transcript is still available for everyone to read.”
Drawing attention to the joyous reaction from infamous liberals, one conservative joked, “Marvel at all the usual suspects congratulating one another for, what, some pro-abortion long-haired hippy RINO dork preening and staring in the mirror about how soft the skin on his hands is?!”
Blasting the entitled RUINO, another poster, this one a woman, wrote, “This is the catharsis of someone who hitched their career to the milquetoast California Republican Party—the GOPe, neocons—and is now jumping ship. The guilt-ridden therapy session, crying about the ‘terrifying’ career suicide of defection, but framing it as moral salvation: More self-indictment than anything. Plus, he does the ‘fine people’ hoax 🙄”
Rounding out the brutal comments, one user added, “There’s absolutely nothing powerful about a whiny sob story by a prissy, heavily-closeted political operative who took a decade to realize he was never actually a Republican, as he was always looking for his next gig. And what is it with the NeverTrumpers named “Miles” (Miles Taylor, Miles Bruner)? All I see is miles of self-indulgent BS.”
