Golf influencer and media personality Paige Spiranac is no stranger to causing a stir when she posts on social media. Whether it’s a simple golf swing or an instructional video for her fans, the former professional golfer often draws a larger audience than almost every other professional golfer.
In her most recent video, which sparked controversy in the golf world, Paige gave instructions on how to properly grip a golf club. While incredibly simple, she addresses that it is imperative to have the proper grip in order hit a golf shot well. It seems that the most instructors in the golf world agree with that take, but many on social media took issue with her attire in the video, shown below:
And today people are outraged on IG about a video on how to get the proper grip lol pic.twitter.com/RwJkBAEXHO

As the war raged in the comment section, some of Paige’s over 800 thousand Twitter followers chimed in to give their support. While Spiranac’s dressing style, in particular the crop top that she wore in this video, may upset some old-timers, many social media users love the videos. One user, in particular, pointed out this divide, saying:
“In the 90’s CBS fired golf commentator Ben Wright for saying (during the LPGA Championship)”Women are handicapped by big boobs. It’s not easy for them to keep the left arm straight and that’s one of the tenets of the game. Their boobs get in the way.” Ben is rolling in his grave!”
Spiranac also wasn’t afraid to fight back on her own, Tweeting about her role in the game of golf and the work that she has done to grow the sport. She hilariously posted this, pointing out that she may be one the best things that golf has going for it:
‘“You’re not growing the game” In 24 hours on social media, almost 4 million people watched a video on how to grip a golf club lol I like my odds that there’s people out there who learned something new. Growing the game one tit…I mean tip at a time’

She also hasn’t caved to the woke nonsense surrounding today’s sports media. Following a prank by Tiger Woods that led to him apologizing in front of a crowded room off media members, Paige was quick to align herself with Tiger’s side of the incident.
“It’s okay to have fun on social media. You don’t have to be angry, outraged, or offended all the time. Just relax lol it’s not that serious”

And she was also quick to use this opportunity to dismantle the hypocrisy that her feminist critics have shown in their recent attacks, when they say that Spiranac is sexualizing female golfers:
“It’s interesting to see women outraged by Tiger slipping JT a tampon after out driving him but those same women will quickly tear me down for how I’ve decided to build my business. You can’t pick and choose when to be a feminist.”
