Gavin Newsom Called Out for Making “Reprehensible” Statement about Trump as Fires Rage [WATCH]

California Governor Gavin Newsom was recently called out on social media following a statement he made about President-elect Donald Trump amid the raging wildfires ravaging the state. Newsom seemingly slammed Trump for not visiting California in the wake of the fires. However, some have argued that Newsom should be more concerned that President Joe Biden, who is still the sitting president, should be more obligated to be on the scene.

Speaking to a local news outlet, Newsom maintained an “objective analysis” of “what went right, what went wrong, but based on fact, not politicalization, not conjecture or misinformation” would occur. Newsom continued, “I’d like the president United States, at least the president-elect, I’d like to come and visit other people out here whose lives have been completely torn apart.”

“I’d want him to visit and understand the magnitude of this scope, what happened to the American people that happened to reside here in California, and that’s with an open hand not a closed fist. I’m not interested in politicizing an event,” Newsom concluded.  The clip was shared on social media, racking up millions of views and countless comments.

One person argued that, Newsom should be more concerned with Joe Biden paying the Golden State a visit instead of Trump, who hasn’t even been inaugurated yet.  “YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UP. Gavin Newsom b****** on live TV about Trump not having visited Los Angeles this week despite the fact that Trump isn’t even in office and BIDEN IS STILL PRESIDENT. Reprehensible,” the post read.

Trump has made many recent statements regarding the wildfire crisis in California.  One post on his social media network, Truth Social, directly called out Newsom, reading, “Governor Gavin Newscum should immediately go to Northern California and open up the water main, and let the water flow into his dry, starving, burning State, instead of having it go out into the Pacific Ocean. It ought to be done right now, NO MORE EXCUSES FROM THIS INCOMPETENT GOVERNOR. IT’S ALREADY FAR TOO LATE!”

Further excoriating California’s leadership over the fires, Trump said in another post, “Fire is spreading rapidly for 3 days — ZERO CONTAINMENT. Nobody has ever seen such failed numbers before! Gross incompetence by Gavin Newscum and Karen Bass….And Biden’s FEMA has no money — all wasted on the Green New Scam! L.A. is a total wipeout!!!”

The American Tribune reported on a resurfaced video of President-elect Trump’s past comments that prove he was right about the ongoing fires.  Discussing the issues in California on Joe Rogan’s podcast, he said, ” “They said, ‘We have no water.’ I said, do you have a drought? ‘No, we don’t have a drought.’ I said, why do you have no water? ‘Because the water isn’t allowed to flow down.’”

Continuing, Trump said, “It’s got a natural flow from Canada all the way up north, more water than they could ever use. And in order to protect a tiny little fish, the water up north gets routed into the Pacific Ocean. Millions and millions of gallons of water gets poured.” He also noted, “I could have water for all of that land, water for your forests.”
