In a hilarious interaction, President Donald Trump blasted woke reporters after he signed a historic document that would impose a $100,000 annual fee for H-1B visas to curb rampant abuse within this controversial program.
For context, after signing the document, he skewered Ebony McMorris as “really obnoxious” for interrupting. Similarly, he criticized ABC’s Jon Karl as a “terrible reporter. After blasting these irritating journalists, he joked about the millions of dollars ABC was forced to pay him for unfair reporting.
In any case, the fraught interaction began when the president turned his attention to Ebony McMorris. In a typically withering diatribe, Trump said, “Quiet! You’re really obnoxious!” Capitalizing on the opening he created, Trump followed up by saying, “You’re really obnoxious. I’m not gonna talk to you until I call on you.”
Interjecting, the infamous wokester Jon Karl asked an impertinent question, saying, “I actually wanna settle this free speech question because you’ve said that you’ve restored free speech in America. Is that free speech, including for people who are harshly critical of you for your political opponents – people who say things you don’t like…”
Uninterested in the rambling and performative question, Trump cut in with a hilarious comment. He said, “I’ve become immune to it. There’s never been a person that’s had more unfair publicity than me, and that’s why your network made me $15 million or $16 million to be exact – George Slopadopoulos, and that’s why CBS paid me a lot of money too.”
Building on this point, he added, “And that’s why I sued the New York Times two days ago for a lot of money – well, I’m winning the cases and the reason why I’m winning is because you’re guilty, Jon!” ABC is a terrible network, a very unfair network, and you should be ashamed of yourself.”
Wrapping up his hilarious remarks, Trump stated, “NBC is equally bad….and for you to stand there and act so innocent and ask me a question like that, but you paid a big price because you were dishonest. You’re not a wonderful person. Frankly, you’re a terrible reporter – you know it and so do I.”

As background, the historic document that President Trump signed before the fracas explained the severe abuse of the H1B system. The proclamation began, “The H-1B nonimmigrant visa program was created to bring temporary workers into the United States to perform additive, high-skilled functions, but it has been deliberately exploited to replace, rather than supplement, American workers with lower-paid, lower-skilled labor.”
Digging into the details, the letter said, “The large-scale replacement of American workers through systemic abuse of the program has undermined both our economic and national security. Some employers, using practices now widely adopted by entire sectors, have abused the H-1B statute and its regulations to artificially suppress wages, resulting in a disadvantageous labor market for American citizens…”

Laying out his solution, the president explained. ” The severe harms that the large-scale abuse of this program has inflicted on our economic and national security demand an immediate response. I therefore find that the unrestricted entry into the United States of certain foreign workers who are described in section 1 of this proclamation would be detrimental to the interests of the United States because such entry would harm American workers, including by undercutting their wages.”
