Peter Doocy, host of Fox News program “The Sunday Briefing,” and his wife Hillary Vaughn, shared fantastic news with the rest of the world by announcing the birth of their third child, a daughter named Molly Kate, born on October 22, 2026. Doocy made the announcement about Molly Kate in a post that was published on his Instagram account.
“Welcome to the world, Molly Kate Doocy! Born October 22, 2026 at 8lb, 4oz. Mom and baby are doing great; big sister and big brother are so excited to be Doocy Party of 5!” Doocy went on to write in the caption on Instagram. The post also included several photographs of the adorable newborn. Doocy and Vaughn, who is a former Fox Business correspondent, got married in 2021.
The couple now has three children, including Molly Kate’s two older siblings, Bridget (3) and George (18 months). In a recent interview, Doocy said that his wife called him and told him she was about to give birth to the baby just one minute before Fox News anchors turned to him for a 9 a.m. live shot. “I don’t think I’ve ever talked through a script so fast,” the former senior White House correspondent said.
“I threw back to New York, quickly grabbed my bag and started sprinting toward the White House gate, which I’m sure raised some eyebrows in the Secret Service guard shack,” he joked, according to a report from TV Insider. Vaughn also commented on the baby’s birth, saying that the couple’s “hearts are bursting with joy” after welcoming Molly Kate to the family, adding, “She is adored from head to toe.”
Doocy, the son of “Fox & Friends” traveling cohost Steve Doocy, then said that their home “felt ten times more full” after bringing Molly Kate home and getting her settled in the nursery they had prepared for her. “She arrived a few days after the due date — but just in time for midterm election results,” Doocy wisecracked. “We are so grateful she is here, and we are so excited to be Doocy, Party of Five!”
“Poor Molly Kate got quite the welcome from George, who was brought to tears at the sight of his baby sister — cue the waterworks. George started crying… then Molly Kate started crying… and Bridget was on the brink of joining the chorus,” Vaughn recounted. After the “initial shock wore off,” Vaughn said that the “excitement set in.”
George, according to Vaughn, has fully embraced his role as a big brother while Bridget “is so excited to have a little sister” and “can’t wait to share her extensive bow collection with Molly Kate.” One commenter on the announcement post congratulated the couple, saying, “Oh my gosh. Congratulations! This is wonderful. Now love them, hold them close and never let them go. I am not kidding. They are precious gifts from God. These are the best times of your life.”
