Former Top Biden Aide Gets Subpoenaed by House Republicans as Investigation Heats Up

Putting the DNC on notice, the House Oversight Committee, headed by Chairman James Comer (R-KY), has issued a subpoena to Anthony Bernal, a former senior advisor to Jill Biden, after he refused to participate in a voluntary interview. The House is investigating an alleged cover-up of Joe Biden’s mental decline and autopen pardons, which have enflamed conservatives for months.

For context, other aides have either testified or agreed to appear before Congress. In reaction, President Trump has ordered an investigation and labeled this situation a major scandal. Dodging responsibility, Biden denies the allegations and says he made all decisions during his presidency.

In any case, the Kentucky Republican said, “Given your close connection with both former President Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden, the Committee sought to understand if you contributed to an effort to hide former President Biden’s fitness to serve from the American people.”

Continuing his letter to the Bernal, Comer said, his “Testimony is critical” to the case and that the committee “seeks information about your assessment of and relationship with former President Biden to explore whether the time has come for Congress to revisit potential legislation to address the oversight of presidents’ fitness to serve.”

Building on this point, the House Oversight Committee Chair said the former advisors “Were eyewitnesses to President Biden’s condition and operations within the Biden White House. They must appear before the House Oversight Committee and provide truthful answers about President Biden’s cognitive state and who was calling the shots.”

Refusing to take accountability for his alleged actions, Former President Joe Biden said, “Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.”

Reacting to the case, President Trump said, “This conspiracy marks one of the most dangerous and concerning scandals in American history. The American public was purposefully shielded from discovering who wielded the executive power, all while Biden’s signature was deployed across thousands of documents to effect radical policy shifts.”

Reacting to the situation on X, a prominent conservative blasted the deep state Democrat, saying, “Jill’s chief of staff Anthony Bernal refused to testify to Congress. Reminder…They arrested PATRIOT Peter Navarro for not comply with a subpoena. Put him in handcuffs and leg irons in the airport to humiliate him then threw him in prison. No mercy.”

In the comments under this tweet, conservatives harshly criticized the former official. One such comment said, “Democrats make arrests and persecute innocent people when they are in charge. We are in charge and we don’t do shit! We hear about corruption everyday and fraud and illegal activities but no one is arrested or charged. So who cares nothing will happen.”

Annoyed by conservative inaction, another reply noted, “The difference is the democrats had a working DOJ in Merrick Garland. He was a tyrant but he did the work! We on the other hand have deep state @AGPamBondi and she doesn’t do sh*t. No justice. None.”
