Former Minnesota Vikings and University of Minnesota football star Jack Brewer sounded off on failed Vice Presidential candidate and current Minnesota Governor Tim Walz over his hostility a new law being pushed through the state’s legislature. The law bans transgender athletes from play in women’s sports.
The law that Brewere and others, such as women’s sports activist Riley Gaines, are protesting in favor of is called the “Preserving Girls’ Sports Act.” The law, which recently passed through Minnesota’s House Education Policy Committee on February 20th. It would, if passed and signed into law, disallow transgender athletes from playing in women’s sports in the state.
Though the law could pass through the Minnesota House of Representatives when it is voted on in that chamber on Monday, March 3, it is expected to be vetoed if it lands on Gov. Tim Walz’s desk. That is because Gov. Walz is known for being consistently on the side of transgender athletes and rights.
Brewer sounded off on that when he spoke about it to Fox News Digital, saying that the matter is all the more disgusting given that Governor Walz was formerly a high school football coach at Minnesota’s Mankato West High School in the 1990s.
Saying as much, Brewer told the outlet that Gov. Walz obviously doesn’t appeal whatsoever to real men. He said, “It’s absolutely disgusting, and it’s why, when you see him and you see his mannerisms and the way he carries himself, you know this guy doesn’t appeal to real men and boys who have battled it out on the gridiron, man.”
Continuing, Brewer said that he hasn’t a thing in common with the woke governor. He told Fox News Digital, “I have nothing in common with this guy.” He added that Gov. Walz is, in his opposition to the bill, a disgrace to the whole football world. He said, “I think he’s a disgrace to the football world to be honest.”
Brewer did add, however, that if invited to speak with Walz about the matter he thinks he might be able to do so effectively. He said, “When I get there on Monday, if he would invite me in his office and have a conversation about this, I would respectfully accept it.”

He added that he thinks the far-left governor doesn’t actually believe in destroying women’s sports by allowing transgender athletes to compete in them. As Brewer put it to Fox News Digital, “I would tell him that I know that deep down in his heart he doesn’t believe in it.”
He then said, commenting yet further on what he thinks is going on with the failed VP candidate in this situation, “I think deep down in his heart he knows it’s wrong. I think he’s trying to appeal to a far-left liberal base … and raise money. These LGBTQ groups donate a lot of money, particularly in Minnesota. So, the money and power they have is really pushing this legislation.”
