Most of the cast of the iconic MTV show Jackass are still shockingly alive and in reasonably good health, as displayed in 2020’s “Jackass Forever”. However, one notable star was not in that movie and may not be around much longer at all if he continues down his destructive path. Ban Margera was kicked off the production for alcohol abuse, and now best friend Steve-O has issued a chilling message on Instagram. Check this out from Ebaum’s World:
Former Jackass stars Steve-O and Bam Margera appeared on stage together as part of Steve-O’s ongoing “Bucket List” tour. Bam Margera has endured an up-and-down public battle with alcohol addiction over the past few years, and his presence on the tour appeared to indicate improvement. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse after the show.
That night, Bam posted this old photo featuring himself, Steve-O and third Jackass cast member, Johnny Knoxville. In the post, he praises Steve-O for being a “best friend who had my f**king back all along,” and lashes out at Knoxville calling him a “poser,” and “pro creation thief.” He also calls out Jackass producer Jeff Tremaine. Both of these attacks are likely related to his removal from the most recent Jackass production, Jackass Forever, which occurred after he checked himself into rehab during filming.
The falling out between Knoxville and Margera has been well publicized. Knoxville simply understood that they couldn’t move forward partying and drinking like it was 2003 anymore. Knoxville cleaned up, as did Steve-O, but Margera has been unable or unwilling to stay sober and had to be excluded from the latest movie because of it. It appears that Bam has not accepted the reality of middle age, and it may cost him his life. The story continues:
In a since-deleted comment, Steve-O calls the post “vile,” and urges Bam to pull himself together. “I brought you on tour with me in hopes that I could get you to see what’s possible for you if you choose recovery. I’ve tried everything I can, but I can’t force you to get honest and do the work of recovery.”
Steve-O goes on to mention how Margera had brought his 5-year-old son to the show with him and was hoping to build a relationship. Then the bitterness set in after the show and Bam got drunk and sent the Instagram post ripping Johnny Knoxville and the show’s producer Jeff Tremaine.

Alcohol addiction is tough to kick, and in many cases rock bottom must be hit before a person finally gets serious about recovery. Clearly former MTV star, Jackass star and pro skateboarder Bam Margera has yet to hit rock bottom. Despite heartbreaking pleas from his friends and family Margera is continuing his destructive behavior. Steve-O appears to be preparing himself for the call when he says to Margera, “You’re dying, brother, and it sucks that I can’t do anything to save you.” For children of the 90’s it will be the loss of another icon of their youth, too soon.
