Following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump over the weekend, former First Lady Melania Trump is reportedly set to make a public appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Melania rarely makes high-profile appearances, preferring to remain out of the public eye.
However, two anonymous sources have allegedly confirmed that the former first lady will attend the RNC alongside her husband, the party’s nominee. According to a report from the Associated Press, Melania will appear at the highly anticipated event, where Trump seeks to present his candidacy as united and cohesive compared to the ensuing chaos observed within the Democratic Party.
Following the assassination attempt against her husband at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally, Melania released a statement on the matter, illustrating how the nation is in a dire predicament. “America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered,” she said in a statement posted to X. “But our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one.”
The former first lady continued, “A monster who recognized my husband as an inhuman political machine attempted to ring out Donald’s passion – his laughter, ingenuity, love of music, and inspiration. The core facets of my husband’s life – his human side – were buried below the political machine. Donald, the generous and caring man who I have been with through the best of times and the worst of times.”
Former First Daughter Ivanka Trump also issued a statement about the failed attempt on her father’s life. “Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and for the other victims of today’s senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. I am grateful to the Secret Service and all the other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country. I love you Dad, today and always,” Ivanka said.
Former First Daughter Tiffany Trump also posted a statement to X, which stated, “The outpouring of love and support for my dad is deeply appreciated. Thank you God for keeping my father alive. Political violence is never the answer. God bless the secret service and law enforcement who fearlessly intervened. Please include the families of the victims in your prayers. As you saw today, my father is a fighter and he will continue to fight for you and the USA.”
Donald Trump also posted a message on his social media platform Truth Social addressing his next steps after he was nearly killed. He said, “Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed. In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin. DJT”
