Foreign Minister of Formerly War-Wracked Country Calls for Trump to “Absolutely” Win the Nobel Peace Prize

In yet more big news for President Donald Trump and his desire to be rewarded for his commitment to establishing peace in the war-wracked world, Rwanda’s Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe explained to Breitbart News that the president’s work in ending the long-running, bloody war between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo is deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize.

As background, Rwanda and the Congo have been at war off and on for around three decades, with the latest iteration of the foreign wars and civil war in the Congo involving Rwanda fighting and defeating a South African-backed Congolese force. Most of the fighting has taken place in the eastern part of the country.

Then, horrified by the long-running bloodshed and desiring peace that will allow the Congo’s massive mineral resources to be properly exploited, President Trump stepped in to help end the war by bringing both sides to a ceasefire agreement. That effort proved successful, and on June 27 the two sides came to the White House to sign the ceasefire deal.

Praising the president for that, Nduhungirehe told Breitbart News that the Congo has long seen violence and that it was President Trump who finally put an end to both it and the exported violence that led to Rwanda’s involvement. He began, “This conflict in eastern DRC is one of the longest conflicts on the continent — 30 years.”

He continued, commenting on why the president should get the Nobel Peace Prize for that, “We have had a genocidal movement that has been destabilizing our country during this whole period. Anyone, including President Trump, who would help sizably to bring this conflict to an end deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Absolutely.”

Similarly, during the ceasefire deal signing meeting in the White House, Nduhungirehe told President Trump that his leadership had made this deal effective even where past ones have not been, saying, “there has been many mediations, facilitation in the past but none of them succeeded and we believe it’s because of your leadership and steadfast commitment to this process.”

President Trump, for his part, has said that he thinks he should get the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in the Congo and elsewhere, but won’t because of bias. Explaining as much in a post on Truth Socia,, he said, beginning his point, “I am very happy to report that I have arranged, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a wonderful Treaty between the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Republic of Rwanda, in their War, which was known for violent bloodshed and death, more so even than most other Wars, and has gone on for decades.”

Continuing, he described their agreeing to a peace deal as a major moment for the world generally and for Africa, saying, “Representatives from Rwanda and the Congo will be in Washington on Monday to sign Documents. This is a Great Day for Africa and, quite frankly, a Great Day for the World!”

He then noted that he has, managed to bring other wars to a close and hasn’t been recognized for it because of the leftist bias of the establishment, saying, “I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for this, I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for stopping the War between India and Pakistan, I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for stopping the War between Serbia and Kosovo, I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for keeping Peace between Egypt and Ethiopia (A massive Ethiopian built dam, stupidly financed by the United States of America, substantially reduces the water flowing into The Nile River).”
