What’s going on in the minds of Americans right now? What are Americans thinking about as they struggle with high prices at the grocery store, volatile gas prices, chaos at the border, and high crime rates in their cities? According to Fox News host Laura Ingraham, they’re yearning for the days of Trump and are sick and tired of what the Biden Administration has to offer.
Such is what Ingraham said during a monologue she gave during a recent broadcast of her “The Ingraham Angle” show on Fox News, arguing that polling shows that Trump is rising compared to Biden and that the cause of that is people being tired of Biden and ready for a return to the days of Trump.
Beginning, Ingraham argued that the big problem the left has is that, as Americans look at the everyday problems they face under Biden and start to yearn for a return to the Trump days, it has nothing to offer other than “desperate verbal attacks” on Trump.
She said, “Americans are yearning for the good old days of Trump, when interest rates were low and gas — how cheap was it? The border, of course, was enforced; no new wars. The most prominent yappers, though, on MSNBC, – they sound like they now are round the bend looking at these polls. They offer no constructive solutions for actually helping the aging Biden, only desperate verbal attacks against Trump.”
Continuing, Ingraham argued that the left has restored to trying to bully the American voter into supporting anyone other than Trump because they think that is “the only way” they can beat him, turning the race into even more of a mud-slinging contest instead of a substantive debate on what policies would best solve our problems.
She said, “Somewhere along the line, they decided – the Democrats did – that the only way that they could beat Trump was to threaten him, bully him and terrify Americans into voting against their own principles and their own economic self-interest, and they’re going to be propelled, as we know, by the billions that Wall Street and Silicon Valley fork over to the Biden campaign and other left-wing PACs.”
Concluding, she argued that the left will, as a result, try to guilt-trip people into not voting for Trump by smearing him with ad-hominem attacks meant to connect him to some of the worst of the worst characters of history, making people feel like moral lepers if they support or vote for him.
She argued, “Now, that money will be used to buy more abortion ads and maybe ballot harvest where, of course, it’s legal. You’re going to hear a lot of “Trump dictator, Trump insurrectionist mega-MAGA Nazis,” rinse and repeat, over and over again. We shouldn’t just try to squeak by given all this in 2024. We need to win by such a big margin that they can’t deny that the world has changed, and the old establishment is not coming back.”
However, as that is what was tried in 2016 and it ran into the realities of people wanting Trump more than it cared about the smears and abuse hurled upon them for doing so, such a strategy could fail as Americans look with increasing horror at rising prices and general malaise.
