A Florida pizza delivery driver allegedly stabbed a pregnant woman 14 times in front of her young daughter over a low tip. According to reports, 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo was arrested in connection to the stabbing and has been charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, home invasion, and aggravated assault. Alvelo reportedly became agitated after receiving a $2 tip on her pizza delivery.
Authorities claim the incident unfolded at a motel room where the victim was with her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter, celebrating a birthday when they ordered pizza from a nearby restaurant. After providing the tip Alvelo supposedly “rolled her eyes and walked away without saying anything.” Later that night, when the victim and others were asleep, Alvelo and another armed man reportedly returned, forcing their way into the motel room.
The male suspect reportedly pointed the firearm at the boyfriend and daughter and forced them into a bathroom. Then, Alvelo allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times before the man asserted that it was time to leave the premises. The victim was stabbed 14 times and taken to a hospital where she underwent surgery and learned she was a few weeks pregnant.
Fox35 identified the victim as Melinda Irizarry, who explained that low tip was the result of poor service, where the pizza was late and cold while Alvelo was rude to her. “Once I realized the severity of the situation, you know, I’m like, ‘my God, these people came in here to hurt us,’” Irizarry said, recounting the horrific experience.
“It’s pretty traumatic,” she added. “My daughter seeing that whole thing, it’s pretty heartbreaking to me. … It wasn’t like she was just upset. It was like she was in a frenzy mode,” Irizarry continued. “You got the money. My boyfriend told you where there was more money and you didn’t go get it.”
