FCC Chair Threatens to Attack “The View” with Investigation after Jimmy Kimmel Suspension

In a hilarious turn of events, FCC Chair Brendan Carr, in a September 18, 2025, podcast with Scott Jennings, suggested reviewing ABC’s “The View” to determine if they should face the same consequences that forced irritating so-called comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air for his abject lies about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

For context, Carr wondered if the View qualifies as a “bona fide” news program, exempt from the FCC’s Equal Time Rule, which mandates that broadcast stations provide equal airtime to competing political candidates. The FCC chair expressed his doubts, potentially requiring it to provide balanced coverage going forward.

In any case, Carr explained his perspective by suggesting why the FCC might look into the controversial daytime television show. He quipped, “I think it’s worthwhile to have the FCC look into whether ‘The View,’ and some of these other programs that you have, still qualify as bona fide news programs and therefore are exempt from the equal opportunity regime that Congress has put in place.”

Making his threats more explicit, he noted, “Potentially, I would assume, you could make the argument that ‘The View’ is a bona fide news show, but I’m not so sure about that. This is a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC’s Equal Time rule.”

As we reported, Kimmel was quickly dropped from the airwaves after his show potentially violated FCC rules, risking a significant fine. The former TV host is reportedly “absolutely f**king livid” and “pissed” at the consequences of his actions.

During his controversial monologue,  Kimmel claimed, “We had some new lows over the weekend, with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Still not done stretching the truth, he alleged, “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving. On Friday, the White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism. But on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this… This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, okay?”

Reacting to the uproar, companies such as Nexstar and Sinclair, which own dozens of TV stations, dropped the show. Explaining their position, Nexstar stated, “Nexstar’s owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the foreseeable future, beginning with tonight’s show. Nexstar strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

According to an anonymous source, Kimmel is“Absolutely f**king livid,” and “Jimmy is pissed over the decision to suspend him and the show, and he is actively looking for ways to get out of his contract…[They’ve] never seen Kimmel this angry.”

Gloating at the downfall of the controversial woke comedian, President Trump quipped, “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!”
