FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino took to social media to offer a much-needed update about his work to reform the controversial bureau. In addition to promising updates about the mysteries surrounding the January 6th debacle, Bongino announced that the probe into the mysterious narcotic substance found at the White House during the Biden presidency had been reopened.
For context, several years ago, a substance later determined to be cocaine was discovered at the Whitehouse leading many to suspect that Hunter Biden, who used to be an addict, was involved. Despite the strong circumstantial evidence, no suspect was ever named.
As we reported at the time, Trump savaged the previous FBI leadership for failing to locate the suspect. The president stated, “Where are the White House SECURITY TAPES, like the ones I openly and happily gave to Deranged Jack Smith, which will quickly show where the Cocaine in the White House came from??? They already know the answer, but probably don’t like it!”
Continuing his epic rebuke, Trump said, “Does anybody really believe that the COCAINE found in the West Wing of the White House, very close to the Oval Office, is for the use of anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden. But watch, the Fake News Media will soon start saying that the amount found was “very small,” & it wasn’t really COCAINE, but rather common ground up Aspirin, & the story will vanish. Has Deranged Jack Smith, the crazy, Trump hating Special Prosecutor, been seen in the area of the COCAINE? He looks like a crackhead to me!”
In any case, Dan Bongino took to X, formerly Twitter, on May 26, 2025, to offer a highly anticipated update. He posted, “Thanks for following this account and allowing us to update you about what we’re doing at your FBI. A few updates,” adding, “The Director and I will have most of our incoming reform teams in place by next week. The hiring process can take a little bit of time, but we are approaching that finish line. This will help us both in doubling down on our reform agenda.”
Continuing his revelation, he said, “Shortly after swearing in, the Director and I evaluated a number of cases of potential public corruption that, understandably, have garnered public interest. We made the decision to either re-open, or push additional resources and investigative attention, to these cases.”
Listing out the newly reopened cases, Bongino said, “These cases are the DC pipe bombing investigation, the cocaine discovery at the prior administration’s White House, and the leak of the Supreme Court Dobbs case. I receive requested briefings on these cases weekly and we are making progress. If you have any investigative tips on these matters that may assist us then please contact the FBI.”

Speaking to his deliberate strategy, Bongino explained. “The Director and I have done only one media interview together. We decided early on to limit our media footprint overall in order to keep the attention on the work being done. There are both positives and negatives to this approach. We have chosen to communicate, in writing, on this platform to fill some of the inevitable information vacuums.”
Showing his commitment to transparency, Bongiuno said, “I try to read as much of your feedback as possible, but the workday is busy, and my office is a SCIF with limited phone access. In response to feedback, both positive and negative, from our interview last week we will be releasing more information which will further clarify answers to some of the questions asked in the interview.”
