Reacting to a dangerous social media post, FBI Director Kash Patel condemned former Coast Guard officer Peter Stinson, who was arrested for threatening President Trump’s life using the “86 47” phrase. Patel linked the slogan to a controversial Instagram post by former FBI Director James Comey. In his now-deleted post, Comey featured seashells forming “86 47,” which sparked a massive conservative backlash and a visit from the Secret Service.
For context, the FBI director slammed the post as “destructive” and argued that it could inspire copycat threats, diverting FBI resources. Stinson, who identifies as an Antifa member, made violent threats, including references to a prior Trump assassination attempt. The Justice Department vows to prosecute such threats rigorously.”
Such was shown when Kash Patel addressed the violent rhetoric, saying, “This is a guy who threatened President Trump’s life using the ‘86 47’ language,” adding that this event was “Tragically, this case was predictable.”
Building out his case, Patel explained, “When former Director Comey first pulled his destructive Instagram stunt, it forced the FBI to pull numerous agents off of critical portfolios, taking key personnel away from important initiatives protecting the American people to deal with an overwhelming number of copycats following Comey’s lead and posting threatening messages against the president of the United States.”
Concluding his response, the courageous FBI director expressed his gratitude that the antifa affiliated officer was apprehended, saying, “Thankfully, law enforcement did excellent work preventing a potential violent actor, and we’ll continue to be on guard.”
In his absurd threats, the former Coast Guard officer complained about the failed assassination attempt of President Trump, saying, “Those Secret Service agents moved very slowly… They left him in the open way to (sic) long. A missed opportunity will not come around again. They will teach this to future agents as a failure to protect and act.”
Continuing his unacceptable threats, Stinson said, “Sure. This is war. Sides will be drawn. Antifa always wins in the end. Violence is inherently necessary.” Continuing his violent rhetoric, he stated, “When he dies, the party is going to be yuge.”

Explaining the charges, Attorney General Pam Bondi declared, “This defendant is charged with threatening the life of our President – a man who has already survived two deranged attempts on his life… The Department of Justice takes these threats with the utmost seriousness and will prosecute this crime to the fullest extent of the law.”
Trying to walk back his wild actions, former FBI Director James Comey whined, “I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of any kind, so I took the post down.”
Reacting shorty after the message from COmeyt was posted, Kash Patel replied, “”We are aware of the recent social media post by former FBI Director James Comey, directed at President Trump. We are in communication with the Secret Service and Director Curran. Primary jurisdiction is with SS on these matters and we, the FBI, will provide all necessary support.”
