In some news that wasn’t overly surprising but was infuriating nonetheless, investigative journalist Catherine Herridge revealed that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel told her that the Biden Administration had torpedoed investigations into the Somali migrant-connected fraud in Minnesota because the fraud trail led back to Biden’s allies.
Announcing as much in a post on X that instantly went mega-viral, the investigative journalist revealed that “Patel Has Been Tracking MN Probes For Months” and that “@FBIDirectorKash [Said] Fraud Probes ‘Buried Under Biden’”. She then went on to show all of that in more detail with a collection of bullet points.
Beginning, Herridge explained that Patel got involved in cracking down on the migrant-connected fraud in Tim Walz’s Minnesota back in July, to ensure the FBI made satisfactory progress in dealing with it, saying, “Patel went to MN in July to oversee the investigations to confirm progress was being made.”
Continuing, she got to the really huge news, which is that Biden had nixed the probes to help cover for his corrupt allies, saying, “Patel says investigations were opened under the Biden Administration and alleges the probes were ‘buried’ because it potentially implicated Biden Administration allies.”
Further, she noted that this year has seen more than a dozen investigations into massive fraud all over the state. She said, on that point, “Between late May 2025 and December 2025 FBI had 16 open investigations into approximately 32 healthcare and homecare providers accused of fraud” and “Described as massive, joint investigations including HHS Inspector General, Medicaid Fraud Unit, IRS, Postal Inspectors, MN Attorney General, MN Department of Education, and others”.
That wasn’t all. She also noted that even as the probes expand in Minnesota, the sprawling natures of the schemes are being discovered to encompass criminal activity in other states as well. She said, “Probes Now Expanding In Minnesota, Investigators Are Exploring Nation-wide Fraud Schemes”, adding, “FBI Surging forensic accountants and data analytics teams to MN”. Those teams are reportedly “following the money” to discover the “entire web” of criminal fraud.
Further, the investigative reporter noted that corruption involving public officials is being discovered and investigated as well, noting that Patel’s FBI is “Investigating potential links to elected officials and terrorist financing” and finding “Potential criminal violations include public corruption, fraud, cyber fraud, healthcare fraud, homecare fraud, money-laundering”.

Then, describing the “Feeding Our Future” program in which primarily Somali fraudsters pilfered massive amounts of money from federal taxpayers without providing practically any meals to children, Herridge said, “The Feeding our Future probe exposed an alleged $250m fraud scheme that obtained federal funding during COVID for nutrition programs but almost NO meals were provided to children”.
Concluding, she noted that money laundering was involved in that scheme, with dozens upon dozens of migrants being indicted and many of them already being convicted. “It’s alleged the monies were laundered through multiple entities to enrich the participants”, Herridge said, adding, “78 have been indicted, 57 convicted, two found not guilty among the group.”
