Speaking about the massive problem of voter fraud and how his Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is taking the problem extremely seriously in the wake of a string of arrests in the swing state of Pennsylvania, FBI Director Kash Patel told Breitbart News that all those who commit the “serious crime” will be held accountable.
As background, on Friday, September 5, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced in a press release that two individuals in Pennsylvania had been caught, arrested, and charged in separate voter fraud schemes targeting the 2020 and 2024 elections in the state, elections that were critical given Pennsylvania’s swing state status.
Announcing as much in the press release, the DOJ said, “United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that two defendants have been charged separately with election fraud offenses, one in connection with the 2020 presidential election, and the other in connection with the 2024 presidential election.”
Continuing, the DOJ announced, “Matthew Laiss, 31, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was charged by indictment with one count of voting more than once in a federal election and one count of voter fraud.” It went on to note that he moved to Florida during the 2020 election cycle, and voted in both Florida and Pennsylvania.
Adding to that after describing Laiss’s alleged crimes in more depth, the DOJ went on to note “Miya Pack, 39, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was charged by indictment with one count of voting more than once in a federal election and one count of voter fraud.” Pack allegedly voted in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Describing that voting in two states, the DOJ said, “The indictment alleges that Pack was registered to vote in Bergen County, New Jersey, and had been registered there since in or about 2004, and was also registered to vote in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, since in or about 2016. The indictment further alleges that, on or about October 26, 2024, the defendant voted in person at an early voting location in Teaneck, New Jersey, casting a vote for the office of President of the United States of America. On Election Day, November 5, 2024, as alleged in the indictment, Pack went to a polling place in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, and cast another ballot in the 2024 general election, to include a vote for the office of President of the United States of America.”
FBI Director Kash Patel, in any case, told Breitbart, “Voter fraud is a serious crime, and those who attempt to undermine our elections will be held accountable.” Continuing, he added that not letting this happen is critical to the integrity of America’s elections, saying, “One citizen, one vote- the integrity of our elections depends on it, and violators will be brought to justice.”

In these cases, the Department of Justice added that “on each count of the indictment the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of five years of imprisonment, three years of supervised release, and a $10,000 to $250,000 fine.” That is the case for both Laiss and Pack, as the alleged crimes are similar in both cases.
Patel, for his part, has been slamming other forms of fraud as well. For example, in a post about the explosive fraud discoveries in Minnesota, he said, “Stealing $250M from hungry kids to buy mansions and luxury cars is as shameless as it gets. Proud of our @FBI and @FBIMinneapolis for exposing one of the worst frauds in Minnesota history — and holding dozens accountable. Exploit the vulnerable, and we will bring you to justice.”
