A family in the town of Wallaville in Queensland, Australia, is in mourning now, as Rickson “Ricko” Williams died suddenly in his sleep on January 11th. Williams was just 21 years old at the time of his death and mere days away from his 22nd birthday.
Ricko’s mother said that doctors discovered her son, a much-loved former school captain who was “fit and healthy”, had an enlarged heart after his death, though the Daily Mail reports that “his cause of death remains unknown”.
Ms. Wright, his mother, posted a tribute to her son after his tragic passing, saying, on Facebook:
“This is not a post I was expecting to write but it‘s nonetheless one that has to be written.”
“Anyone who knew us, knew how much Rickson meant to us and how much this loss will affect our lives and our family.
“He had his whole life ahead of him and had just put in an application to study a bachelor of music.”
The Daily Mail, adding more details about his life, reported that:
Mr Williams worked at a plant nursery in the rural town of Rollingstone before he relocated to Wallaville about four years ago.
He was a former school captain at Stuart State School who ‘always wanted to be the life of the party’.
Ms. Wright also created a GoFundMe to help pay for his unexpected funeral. In the GoFundMe, she said:
