As the one-year anniversary of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock during one of the few memorable moments of the Oscars comes up, Chris Rock finally joked about the incident. That came during his new special, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage. During it, Rock went off on Will Smith’s “selective outrage,” mocking Smith for slapping him over a joke about Jada Smith, when really he should be made at her for cheating on him.
So, Chris Rock remembers what Will Smith was really upset and insecure about, which is that his horrid wife cheated on him then told the whole world about it on a podcast. Joking about that during his new special, Rock said:
“His wife was f*cking her son’s friend.”
“We’ve all been cheated on, everybody in here has been cheated on. None of us have been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television, like “Hey I was sucking somebody else’s d*ck, how did that make you feel?” Why the f*ck would you do that sh*t?”
“Everybody called him a b*tch. And who is he hitting? Me. A n*gga her knows he can beat. That is some b*tch ass sh*t”

The Smiths are in a panicked PR clean-up after Will Smith assaulted Chris Rock on stage. It would appear that while assaulting someone over a joke is popular on Twitter, it’s frowned upon IRL. In the real world, physically attacking someone for words makes you the bad guy. Go figure.
As part of the clean-up, Jada Pinkett Smith wants you to believe she didn’t want it to happen. According to a source close to US Weekly, “It was in the heat of the moment and it was him overreacting. He knows that, she knows that. They’re in agreement that he overreacted.”
Yes, I realize US Weekly is a tabloid akin to the National Enquirer and CNN. But that same source goes on to say that Pinkett Smith is “not one of these women that needs protecting.” She is also “a strong woman” who “can fight her own battles.” But rest assured, she will stand by her husband. This is just speculation, but if I were to guess, US Weekly’s source is Jada Pinkett Smith talking through a tin can to hide her voice.
