“Euphoria’s” Hunter Schafer Slams “Transexual Actress” Label Wants to be Known as Female

Recently, “Euphoria star” Hunter Schafer rebuked the label of “transsexual actress” that some have assigned.  Reportedly, Schafer transitioned to being identified as a girl in the ninth grade, asserting that the term “transsexual” should no longer apply.

“It has not just happened naturally by any means. If I let it happen, it would still be giving ‘Transsexual Actress’ before every article ever,” Schafer said.  The Euphoria star claimed that the label has become “demeaning” at this point, where Schafer explained, “I just want to be a girl and finally move on.”

“As soon as I say it, it gets blastoff,” Schafer noted. “It took a while to learn that and it also took a while to learn that I don’t want to be [reduced to] that, and I find it ultimately demeaning to me and what I want to do. Especially after high school, I was sick of talking about it. I worked so hard to get to where I am, past these really hard points in my transition, and now I just want to be a girl and finally move on.”

Schafer also voiced a disinterest in acting in explicitly transgender roles, embracing the “girl” identity.  “I just don’t want to do” transgender roles anymore,” Schafer said.  “It’s been very intentional. I’ve gotten offered tons of trans roles, and I just don’t want to do it. I don’t want to talk about it,” Schafer continued.

Schafer further expressed feelings of “guilt” for not being a better spokesperson for the transgender movement while simultaneously wanting to move past the label it brings.  “I know for a fact that I’m one of the most famous trans people in media right now, and I do feel a sense of responsibility, and maybe a little bit of guilt, for not being more of a spokesperson,” Schafer stated. “But ultimately, I really do believe that not making it the centerpiece to what I’m doing will allow me to get further. And I think getting further and doing awesome sh*t, in the interest of ‘the movement,’ will be way more helpful than talking about it all the time.”

In other transgender-related news, the Biden administration recently sparked significant backlash for explicitly recognizing “Transgender Day of Awareness,” which falls on the Easter holiday this year, perhaps the most important celebration in the Christian faith.  Furthermore, the Biden administration also received criticism for banning “overtly religious” symbols in its Easter Egg art competition.  These collective actions have angered Christians who feel that the sacred holiday has had its true meaning stripped.

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility.  I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity,” according to an official White House statement.
