NOTE: this article is about jokes made about VP Harris after a video of her from 2019 resurfaced. It’s not news, nor should the jokes about her be taken as statements of fact from The American Tribune or others. It’s just for fun, as some of the jokes are funny, and the video is funny, in our opinion, as well.
With President Joe Biden’s health, particularly his mental health, increasingly being called into question thanks to Special Counsel Hur’s report on his handling of classified documents, one which alleged he has severe memory issues, more and more eyes are on Vice President Kamala Harris. That went less than well for the Vice President on X (formerly Twitter), however, as a video of her laughing wildly and singing “The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round” went viral and drew much scorn.
The tweet that sparked the jokes about the Vice President included a short portion from an August of 2019 campaign clip in which Kamala Harris walks out of a building and looks at her campaign bus, used by her for the campaign’s 2020 Iowa bus tour. After seeing it, she quite awkwardly says, “look at my bus!” and then starts singing “the wheels on the bus go round and round” and doing her signature cackle.
So you can see what the commenters on Twitter were joking about, check out the full clip, shared on Facebook in August of 2019 by Kamala Harris, here:
So, one poster on Twitter found the old clip and reposted it with a joke about her, saying, “i need whatever drug concoction they give her.” That was meant, on X, as a joke and The American Tribune reporting on it should not be taken as an allegation or statement of fact about Kamala Harris being on a “drug concoction,” but rather just taken as a joke. In any case, that video and joke went viral, racking up more than 15 million views as of the time this article was written.
Well, it, in turn, spawned many additional comments and jokes. One of the best, a quote tweet which has since racked up more than 10 million views, said, “She really embodies health ledger’s joker in this in a way I don’t think anyone else has.”
Replying, another person came up with a hilarious Kamala-Joker crossover storyline, saying, “we’re all having a great time!! *begins cackling before smashing directly into somber voice* yes, finally, together, all of us, unified as one people, one voice, one person, me specifically, will do what is right, and good, and just; i will blow up this hospital.”
Another commenter noted the ridiculousness of the original video, saying, “This would make sense if there were a group of toddlers with her but no…she just did that.” Replying, another commenter joked, “It would honestly even then be kind of acceptable if she didn’t laugh hysterically at it lmao.”
This isn’t the first time that VP Harris has been mocked over comments she made about a bus. In 2022 she gave a rambling speech about yellow school buses, saying, “Who doesn’t love a yellow school bus, right? Can you raise your hand if you love a yellow school bus? Many of us went to school on the yellow school bus, right? It’s part of our experience growing up. It’s part of a nostalgia, a memory of the excitement and joy of going to school to be with your favorite teacher, to be with your best friends and to learn. The school bus takes us there.”
That, in turn, led to comments like “Democrats have been hiding Kamala, but she just had a press conference and talked about yellow school buses and my goodness they really can’t let her talk in public about anything,” “Okay changed my mind about Fetterman,” and, “Please sing Wheels on the Bus, please sing Wheels on the Bus.”
