Multi-billionaire Elon Musk recently announced that he would give away $1 million until the election to a random resident of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, who has signed the America PAC petition. The move is the latest instance of Musk’s Republican activism to get former President Donald Trump elected after formally endorsing the Republican candidate earlier this year.
Musk announced at a town hall in Harrisburg, “So, I have a surprise for you, which is that we’re going to be awarding a million dollars randomly to people who have signed the petition every day from now until the election.” Musk explained that getting people to sign the petition has been difficult because the “legacy media won’t report on it.” He added, “This news, I think, is gonna really fly.”
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO had previously stated that he would offer $47 to anyone who refers a registered swing state voter to sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments. America PAC had already increased its referral payments to $47 to $100. Musk has made numerous high profile appearances with former President Trump on the campaign trail.
The American Tribune recently reported on Musk speaking at a Trump rally during the former president’s return to Butler, Pennsylvania. Musk walked out on stage jumping up and down in exuberant joy as he got speak to the crowd of excited Trump supporters. Musk was wearing a “Dark MAGA” hat and a t-shirt that read, “Occupy Mars.”
During his remarks, Elon took a shot at Biden, stating, “We had one president who couldn’t climb a flight of stairs and another who was fist pumping after getting shot,” he said, referring to Biden’s past struggles walking up the stairs of Air Force One while praising Trump’s bravery after being shot earlier this summer. “America is the home of the brave, and there’s no truer test than courage under fire, so who do you want representing America?” he asked the crowd.
“This is no ordinary election,” Musk continued. “The other side wants to take away your freedom of speech. They want to take away your right to bear arms. They want to take away your right to vote effectively. You’ve got 14 states now that don’t require voter I.D. California, where I used to live, just passed a law banning voter ID for voting. I still can’t believe that’s real. So, how are you supposed to have a good, proper election if there’s no ID? It’s meaningless.”
Musk added, “Free speech is the bedrock of democracy. If people don’t know what’s what’s going on, if they don’t know the truth, how can you how can you make an informed vote you must have free speech, in order to have democracy. That’s why it’s the First Amendment. And the second amendment is there to ensure that we have the First Amendment.” He continued, “If there’s one takeaway for anything that will matter is getting those registrations and then and then getting everyone to actually vote. That is what will decide this election, especially in Pennsylvania.”
