Elon went on a tear giving MSM journalists that were “doxxing” him by providing real time updates on his location the boot from Twitter last night, much to the annoyance of regime figures like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
She, responding to a tweet of Elon’s that said “They posted my exact real-time location, basically assassination coordinates, in (obvious) direct violation of Twitter terms of service“, said:
You’re a public figure. An extremely controversial and powerful one.
I get feeling unsafe, but descending into abuse of power + erratically banning journalists only increases the intensity around you.
Take a beat and lay off the proto-fascism. Maybe try putting down your phone.
As someone who has been subject to real + dangerous plots, I do get it. I didn’t have security and have experienced many scary incidents.
In fact, many of the right-wing outlets you now elevate published photos of my home, car, etc.
At a certain point you gotta disconnect.
Elon, rather than revert to bickering or try to defend his policy when dealing with someone who would dislike him regardless, simply said “You first lol”, mocking AOC with the suggestion that she also needs to get off her phone.
That tweet fight with AOC came shortly after Elon kicked a number of MSM journalists off of Twitter, announcing that they had posted “assassination coordinates” of his real-time location on Twitter, information that well could lead or could have lead to physical harm befalling him. Posting about that, Elon said:
Same doxxing rules apply to “journalists” as to everyone else

Elon’s tweet can as a response to Mike Solana, who had drawn attention to why certain journalists were being kicked off of Twitter after Elon’s takeover. Solana said “so far, i’ve been able to confirm about half the accounts suspended posted links to the jet tracker thing in violation of the new doxx’ing policy. unclear just yet about the rest, but i think it’s safe to say the rule is for real.”
Solana’s tweet, in turn, was a quote tweet response to Jon Levine, who had disingenuously suggested that Elon was kicking off journalists for reporting on him, leaving out the fact that those “journalists” were providing real-time data on his location that could be used by assassins or others with foul intents to find and attack Elon:

Elon later added more details about what Twitter’s new anti-doxxing policy is, saying:
Criticizing me all day long is totally fine, but doxxing my real-time location and endangering my family is not
Accounts engaged in doxxing receive a temporary 7 day suspension
That string of comments came as a response to a screenshot of a post by Taylor Lorenz, the journalist that doxxed the Libs of TikTok, on Mastadon, a leftist Twitter alternative:
