Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) recently discovered troubling information in the Social Security Administration database, indicating that many individuals over 150 years old are receiving benefits. Musk has publicly shared these findings on X, illustrating how this is a “huge problem” that needs to be mitigated.
The discovery within the Social Security Administration comes as Musk and DOGE have been tasked with downsizing the federal government through reducing wasteful spending, eliminating fraud, and improving efficiency. Musk posted a data table on X, which showed thousands of Americans supposedly between the ages of 150 and 200 years old. Amazingly, there was one entry between the ages of 240 and 249 years old with in another between 360 and 369 years old.
Musk wrote on X, “Bruh, if I wanted to rummage through random personal shit, I could have done that at PAYPAL. Hello??? Having tens of millions of people marked in Social Security as “ALIVE” when they are definitely dead is a HUGE problem. Obviously. Some of these people would have been alive before America existed as a country. Think about that for a second …”
The Tesla founder further joked that “vampires” could be gaming the system. “According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security,” Musk wrote. “As a friend of mine described it, this is like an amazing puzzle, uncovering the secrets of an ancient civilization that went extinct … except it’s still around ” he added in another post.
Moreover, President Donald Trump also addressed the problematic social security data during a recent press conference, listing out the ludicrous age ranges. The president said, “200 to 209 years old, 879 people from 210 years old, I haven’t met any of them, and if I did, I would bless them. I would worship the ground they walk on.”
Trump added, “210 to 219 years 866. From 220 years old to 229 years old, 1,039 and then you have two people from 240 years old to 249 years old, one person, and there’s one person that’s 360 years old. That’s just that. And then, where’s the money being spent?”
Additionally, the Trump administration has installed a new commissioner of the Social Security Administration, Leland Dudek, following the resignation of Michelle King, who stepped down after a reported conflict with DOGE. “My first call as Acting Commissioner was to our Inspector General’s office to provide them an opportunity to oversee and review any and all agency activities, including my actions past, present, and future. Transparency is at the heart of good government,” he said.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields commented, “In the meantime, the agency will be led by a career Social Security anti-fraud expert as the acting commissioner.” He added, “President Trump is committed to appointing the best and most qualified individuals who are dedicated to working on behalf of the American people, not to appease the bureaucracy that has failed them for far too long.”
