Elon has been sniffing around Twitter since he took over following his $44 billion purchase of the social media company, and not just sniffing around the code and what practices the company has been engaged in, such as working with the government to squash “disinformation.”
He’s apparently been looking around the physical premises too, and his find there was about as wild as anything yet released about what anti-conservative things Twitter has been up to for all of these years, if equally unsurprising.
What was that find? A massive number of #staywoke t-shirts that were crammed away in a closet. So no wonder conservatives were having such a hard time on Twitter: the employees were actively wearing apparel showing off their wokeness.
Commenting on that tweet with the video of the #staywoke shirt closet, Elon also tweeted, without comment, a link to the “DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE REPORT REGARDING THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION INTO THE SHOOTING DEATH OF MICHAEL BROWN BY FERGUSON, MISSOURI POLICE OFFICER DARREN WILSON”.
He probably tweeted out that report because, as he said in a quickly deleted tweet, “#StayWoke shirts stem from the Ferguson protests. Obama’s own DOJ proved this & exonerated the cop. “Hands up don’t shoot” was made up. The whole thing was a fiction.”
Watch Elon find the shirts here:
Though that tweet was apparently deleted, Elon did respond “True” when journalist Andy Ngo said ““Hands up, don’t shoot” is one of the biggest hoaxes to come from the American left in the last decade. That big lie has inspired many to become radicalized and militant.”
The video of the #StayWoke shirts set the internet ablaze, with numerous right-leaning commenters jumping in to make fun of the woke Twitter employees. Author and conservative commentator Tim Young, for instance, said “The social justice warriors even had their own adorable uniforms at Twitter. 🤣🤣”
Twitter troll and conservative media personality Jack Posobiec joined in with a tweet making fun of both the Twitter employees and how “Zoomers” talk, saying “Not bussin. I repeat, not bussin. OnG“. Another account pushed back on the leftist claim in the comments that being “woke” is a good thing, saying: “If woke was limited to “care about others”, noone would have a problem with it. What woke actually means is “force others to care about stuff you care about or ruin them in the process”. Yes, woke people, that means you are, in fact, the bad guys”
The anti-Elon accounts were out in force too, though they were mainly small accounts and not Tim Young or Posobiec-like large ones. One small account, for example, said: “Woke = empathetic and sympathetic to societal injustices especially for marginalized groups. So how is that bad or, as you childishly put it, “🤣?”
Another said: “Blaming a private company for wanting to create a non toxic environment on the internet? Absolutely ridiculous that you criticise them on this when being woke is definitely a lot better than allowing freedom of speech which incites riots and lets the alt right grow so large…”
