In a glorious moment for conservatives excited to see former President and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Trump win the election, becoming president-elect, while the woke media melts down, such meltdowns have happened in great numbers. Amongst the funniest of those freakouts was one in which CNN commentators devolved into snapping at each other.
The two personalities involved in the hilarious CNN spat were Democratic CNN commentator Karen Finney sniped at her Republican co-panelist and counterpart, Michael Singleton. Particularly, she started bickering with him when trying to dispute the claim that Trump made life better for Americans than Biden.
It started as, with the final numbers rolling in, Trump was victorious and became President-Elect. Freaking out a bit, CNN host Kasie Hunt claimed that the economy has been trending in the correct direction under Biden, a point that Singleton vociferously disputed.
Leading the conversation and starting the spat, Hunt said, referencing the supposedly good economy under Biden, “But it seems like rich people are feeling that and working class people aren’t. Isn’t that the basic message here? Isn’t that what we’re learning from voters? Coalition is saying this isn’t working for me.”
Singleton fired back that, whatever the charts say, everyday people much preferred Trump. He said, “You can point to all the charts. People know how much money they have at the end of every single week. They know how much goods cost in the grocery store today compared to four years, five years ago. Running on the message that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have done wonderful things for the economy is just not real for everyday people and it’s why they said with all due respect we’re rejecting this notion. We do want to go back to at least the first two years of the Trump term.”
Finney lost it. She snapped at Singleton, saying, “That doesn’t exist. You can’t [go back]!” Singleton dropped the bomb on her, saying, “Why didn’t your candidate win then?” That set Finney off, who said, “It doesn’t have to do with whether or not we won. My point is, you’re going to get in a time machine and go back four year with… that’s not the point I’m making. The point…”
Singleton wasn’t having it, and gave her a highly skeptical look. Stopping her monologue to rebuke him for looking at her, she snapped, “Don’t look at me like that.” Singleton, responding, said, “What’s the point?” Failing to make a real point about the economy, she said, “The point I’m trying to make is where we were in 2017 and 2018, we can’t just get in a time machine and go back.” Singleton fired back, “The point is your message didn’t resonate.”

The spat on CNN came alongside general demoralization of the left. For example, on poster on X noted that certain people in left-leaning occupations seem demoralized, writing, “Local coffee shop scene is incredible Baristas are visually demoralized. People are sauntering in, body language is atrocious 😭 This was a beat down of epic proportions.”
