Dolly Parton took us all on a trip down memory lane as she performed at the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Game in a Cowboy Cheerleader Uniform. The performance is one of the most memorable in Thanksgiving history, as the country star took over the crowd with her vocals and with a great performance.

Parton joined forces with the Salvation Army to bring awareness to those who are less fortunate on Thanksgiving as she sang and hyped up millions of fans for the release of her newest album “Rockstar.” This was a

Parton wasted no time in getting to her biggest hits, singing “Jolene” and “9 to 5” in quick succession. The performance received a massive amount of praise online as well as in person, as her applause was deafening. Even the announcers in the booth were amazed, with former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo sounding starstruck at having gotten to hear Dolly live.

Parton spoke about the Salvation Army and the hope that it brings to people all across America.

She said, “Those Red Kettles have long been a symbol of hope for our friends and neighbors who are facing hard times. My goal is to encourage everyone who can to donate and support their neighbors in need. Every small act of generosity helps, and together, we can all love our neighbors this holiday season and beyond.”

Her charity and propensity to give back to her community is something that Dolly has become widely known for and that has grown her stardom from that of a singer to a cultural icon that millions of Americans look up to.

As for the Salvation Army, they have been busy this season abroad as well, helping the people of Israel as they fight back against the horrors of Hamas. They teamed up with Franklin Graham to provide aid for the nation as it continued the fight of its life.

Speaking on Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Graham said, “He is facing the most trying time since the birth of their nation with [1,400] people killed, more than 240 men, women, and children taken as hostages, and many injured in the Hamas attack. As I spoke with a woman whose husband was taken hostage, the fear and heartache were overwhelming. Pray for these hostages and their families, pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”

Samaritan’s Purse explained how they are helping in a press release.

They wrote, “Samaritan’s Purse has provided hygiene kits, 5,900 food vouchers, 300 food boxes, and 3,800 hot meals for internally displaced families in Israel. In addition to these supplies, the organization has provided medical equipment, including defibrillators to search and rescue teams.”

With Dolly and the Samaritan’s Purse going together for Thanksgiving, millions of Americans will not be going without this year. Couple that with the actual performance that she put together at halftime, and you have a halftime show for the ages that will have an impact for years to come.
