DOJ Arrests Famous Leftist Journalist for Horrific Crimes against Children

In yet another incident of a leftist being caught doing something unspeakable, Thomas LeGro, a Washington, D.C.-based journalist who has been working for the Washington Post since 2013, was caught by the Department of Justice and charged with various offenses having to do with unspeakably awful crimes toward children.

As background, describing his role in the organization on its website, the Washington Post said, “In 2018, Tom LeGro was part of a team of Post reporters who were awarded a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Senate candidacy of Roy Moore and a subsequent effort to discredit The Post’s reporting . . . Tom was promoted to executive producer in 2021, overseeing the Politics, National, International and Technology teams.”

In any case, the DOJ caught LeGro engaging in crimes against children in late June of this year, and dragged him to court nearly immediately so the prosecution against him for his horrific crimes could begin. The charge against LeGro was led by Judge Jeanine Pirro, the US Attorney for the District of Columbia.

Announcing the arrest and prosecution of LeGro in a press statement released on June 27, the DOJ began by saying, “Thomas Pham LeGro, 48, made his first appearance today in U.S. District Court for allegedly possessing child pornography. LeGro, a journalist at the Washington Post and resident of the District of Columbia, was arrested yesterday and taken into custody following a search of his home.”

Continuing, the statement noted that Judge Jeanine was involved with this case, saying, “The charges were announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. Pirro thanks FBI Assistant Director in Charge Steven J. Jensen of the Washington Field Office, and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department for their ongoing efforts in this investigation.”

Then, returning to details about what happened and how the DOJ caught LeGro, the statement revealed that his residence had been raided by FBI agents and the horrifying material was found on his work laptop, stating, “On June 26, 2025, FBI agents executed a search warrant at LeGro’s residence and seized several electronic devices. A review of LeGro’s work laptop revealed a folder that contained 11 videos depicting child sexual abuse material.”

Further, the statement indicated that it would appear that LeGro had more incriminating videos downloaded, but had destroyed the computer hard drive on which they were kept, as fractured pieces of the hard drive were found in his residence. It said, “During the execution of the search warrant agents observed what appeared to be fractured pieces of a hard drive in the hallway outside the room where LeGro’s work laptop was found.”

The complaint brought against LeGro added to that, noting that in addition to the fractured pieces of the hard drive being found in the basement hallway, an empty hard drive cover was found nearby and LeGro was arrested trying to leave the basement. Further, that complaint noted that his internet activity had been tracked since early May.

The Washington Post, for its part, responded to the case and accusations by noting that LeGro was placed on leave while the case against him proceeds and said it finds the allegations serious, writing, “The Post understands the severity of these allegations, and the employee has been placed on leave.”
