The Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Boston had strong words for Beantown’s Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu made threats to expose property owners who are looking to lease parking spots to the agency in her sanctuary city. In a post on social media platform X, DHS referred to Wu as being “pro-criminal” and accused her of “trying to intimidate Bostonians.”
The post then went on to say that Wu “has ZERO authority to block ICE from utilizing private property.” The agency added, “If PRIVATE citizens want to allow federal law enforcement onto their OWN property, they should be allowed to do so. They should not face threats from their radical mayor who shamelessly compared ICE agents to a neo-Nazi group.”
The whole thing started when the federal immigration enforcement agency posted about its search for property owners across the United States “capable of providing surface and/or structured vehicle parking spaces in the vicinity of existing or planned ICE facilities.” In Boston specifically, ICE is looking for 249 contiguous parking spaces.
According to the Daily Wire, Wu recently stated that her office is planning to file public records requests to find out which private property owners have expressed interest in aiding ICE by providing them with parking spaces. “We as a city will be filing another FOIA request for any responses that have come in from the Boston area so that we know what information they may be sifting through,” Wu went on to say.
Mayor Wu then acknowledged that the city of Boston has no legal authority to block private property owners from allowing ICE vehicles to use their parking spots. However, she said that doing so was not “a way to make our community safer.” She also attempted to back up her actions by citing a recent incident that happened in Maine where an ICE officer shot and killed an illegal alien.
ERO Boston, the local arm of immigration enforcement, posted a tweet of their own in response to Mayor Wu’s threat, sharing facts about the recent arrest of an immigrant from Honduras as an example of who they are looking to capture and deport. “We as a city will be filing another FOIA request for any responses that have come in from the Boston area so that we know what information they may be sifting through,” ICE posted.
The post then explained that the individual who was arrested has a lengthy criminal history of statutory rape, several prior arrests for raping a child, indecent assault, and battery on a child under 14. The criminal was identified as Martin Carias Reyes. Folks in the comment section were largely supportive of efforts made by immigration officers, especially when it comes to removing folks like Reyes from the streets.

“When will it end with these disgusting pieces of garbage? Get them ALL out of here!” one person said. Another person called out Wu, saying, “Let’s see if Wu will put her own kids at risk and hire him as a babysitter. Or is it just more ‘rules for thee but not for me?'” Another individual praised ICE, saying, “God, please punish this monster and protect our children. ICE is doing God’s work. Thank you to all working for the American people.”
