Detested RINO Don Bacon Attacks Trump for Helping MAGA Candidate Defeat RINO Senator in Critical Election

Much-despised RINO Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) is finally leaving Congress at the end of this term, much to the delight of MAGA, but before he goes, he is doing everything he can to try and torpedo the Trump presidency and stop MAGA from putting its ideas and preferred policies into practice. Recently, that took the form of him appearing for an interview with the MSM to attack President Trump over his decision to endorse Texas AG Ken Paxton instead of incumbent RINO Sen. John Cornyn.

    For reference,

announcing his endorsement of Texas AG Paxton on Truth Social, the President said, “The Highly Respected Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, an America First Patriot, and someone who has always been extremely loyal to me and our AMAZING MAGA MOVEMENT, is running for the United States Senate, to represent a place I love and WON, BIG, three times, with 6.4 Million Votes in 2024 (The Most Votes in the History of the State, BY FAR)!” Continuing, the president explained, “I know Ken well, have seen him tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and he is a WINNER! Ken is a Strong Supporter of TERMINATING THE FILIBUSTER and, very importantly, THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, something which polls at 87%, including Dumocrats, and yet can’t seem to get approved.”

Then, commenting on why he decided against backing Cornyn, the president said, “John Cornyn is a good man, and I worked well with him, but he was not supportive of me when times were tough and, despite having the Most Successful Economy in the History of our Country during my First Term and, with all of the many other things that I accomplished (Secure Border, Military Dominance, Space Force, All Time High Stock Markets and 401(k)s, Record Job and Economic Growth, and so many other things that would be impossible to readily list!), which are considered by many to be legendary”.

As a result, Ken Paxton won his election handily. Further, that endorsement sent outgoing Congressman Don Bacon over the edge, as happened when he appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” with host Margaret Brennan. During the interview, which occurred on Sunday, June 9, Rep. Bacon insisted that Trump was in the wrong in making such an endorsement.

Such came when Brennan asked Bacon about AG Paxton, painting him in a deliberately negative light. She began, ignoring that he had been cleared of the bribery charges and saying, “Before we get to national security, I want to ask you about politics and candidate quality. Last month, Texas Republicans chose to make Ken Paxton their Senate nominee, despite the fact, as Texas AG, he was impeached by the Republican-controlled House on multiple charges of abuse of office, including bribery.”

She added, “His wife is divorcing him on what she called biblical grounds because of adultery, and he was indicted in 2015 on securities fraud charges that were later dropped. Despite all this, the President backed him over sitting Senator John Cornyn, and so did Texas Republicans. For your party, does Trump’s favor carry more weight than character?”

Bacon sizzled with anger. He began, “I think in many cases it does. His endorsement in a primary is often carries- carries the most weight. I think it was a mistake. I think this has hurt the president. A lot of senators feel very close to Senator Cornyn. He was a big fundraiser. He helped a lot of these Republicans get elected all over the country, so there’s a lot of loyalty to John Cornyn. In fact, I know him too, and I admire the guy.”

He continued, “And now they’ve not- we’ve nominated a guy in Texas that is probably the most vulnerable in a general election, and it puts that seat up for grabs. So, it was- I don’t think it was a wise decision, and I would say- one other factor here is the Democrat nominee. I think he’s also pretty weak, though, in Texas.”

He concluded, “So, I think they both- both sides have nominated people that are vulnerable in general. But, John Cornyn could have won the seat easily, and now the Republicans will be spending a lot of money to hold it, and I think it was a mistake.”
