Democrats Move to Impeach RFK Jr

In another annoying move from the woke left, a far-left Democrat representative, Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), moved to impeach Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday, December 10, claiming that he has “failed” in his role at HHS and thus must be removed from it.

Announcing the move in a press release, the woke congresswoman’s office promulgated a statement saying, “Today, Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens formally introduced Articles of Impeachment against Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), citing his dangerous actions that have endangered public health and gutted lifesaving medical research.”

Continuing, the press release noted that a leftist “science” non-governmental organization supports the impeachment effort, indicating from where the impetus may have come, saying, “Rep. Stevens’ impeachment effort is supported by Stand Up for Science, an organization dedicated to defending and advancing America’s scientific ecosystem.”

Further, the statement noted that the representative is going to war with RFK Jr. in other ways as well, saying, “Rep. Stevens, who previously called on Secretary Kennedy to resign, introduced legislation to restore his cancer research cuts, and announced she was drafting articles of impeachment in September, said his repeated abuses of power, disregard for science, and pattern of misinformation have left Congress with no choice but to act. Rep. Stevens’ articles formally impeach Secretary Kennedy for ‘abuse of authority and undermining of the public health.’”

Defending the impeachment move in a statement of her own, Rep. Stevens said, “Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has turned his back on science, on public health, and on the American people – spreading conspiracies and lies, driving up costs, and putting lives at risk.”

Continuing, she insisted, “Under his watch, families are less safe and less healthy, people are paying more for care, lifesaving research has been gutted, and vaccines have been restricted. He has driven up health care costs while tearing down the scientific institutions that keep Michiganders and families across America safe. His actions are reckless, his leadership is harmful, and his tenure has become a direct threat to our nation’s health and security. Congress cannot and will not stand by while one man dismantles decades of medical progress.”

The articles of impeachment themselves said, “That Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors and that the following article of impeachment be exhibited to the Senate.”

Claiming that his performance of the job is itself such a high crime, the impeachment articles said, “In his conduct as Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has abused the powers of his office and failed to faithfully execute the laws of the United States, in violation of his constitutional oath and his duty under Article Il, Section 3, of the Constitution. By doing so, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has imperiled the health and safety of the American people, eroded public confidence in the Nation’s public health institutions, and stalled decades of scientific and medical progress.”

It also claimed, “In his conduct as Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has disregarded statutory requirements of his office by failing to abide by Federal law, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (42 U.S.C. 18001 et seq.) and title XIX of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396 et seq.), which threatens the public health and safety of the American people through the diminished capacity of the Nation’s public health institutions.”
