Democrat Stands By His “Abolish ICE” Demands, Smears ICE Agents as “Terrorizing Our Streets”

Radical left-wing Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdulrahman El-Sayed, a Muslim, claimed in a recent debate held in the city of Grand Rapids that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is, and this is a direct quote, “terrorizing our streets.” Many conservatives and common sense Americans have pointed out the irony of someone being an adherent to the Islamic religion referring to the actions of another group of individuals “terrorizing” the streets.

The moderator for the debate, which took place on October 8, 2026, was longtime political reporter and senior journalist for WOOD TV8, Rick Albin, asked, “You’ve made your position clear. You want to abolish ICE. Let me give you a scenario. If an undocumented immigrant in Michigan commits a violent crime, serves a sentence, and has a deportation order, under your system, would he be deported?”

El-Sayed then accused ICE of violating the “whole Constitution” in their efforts to capture, detain, and deport illegal aliens. “Yes. But you don’t have to do that by violating the whole Constitution in the way that ICE has been enabled to do by this rogue administration. ICE right now is not about immigration enforcement. ICE is about terrorizing our streets,” he replied to Albin’s question.

According to a report from Breitbart News, El-Sayed then went on to make a reference to the ICE-involved shootings that took place earlier this year in Minneapolis that resulted in the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both known for being anti-ICE agitators. “They killed two people,” the Michigan Democrat said, conveniently leaving out the part where the two “victims” assaulted ICE officers first.

“… I think we can go back to an era like INS [Immigration and Naturalization Service] when we enforced immigration policy at the edge of the Constitution, and we respected the Constitution in doing it. But I also think we need a pathway to citizenship for folks who are stuck in limbo right now,” El-Sayed stated in his reply.

The controversial Democrat, who has even been criticized by members of his own party for having a connection to radical left-wing Islamic influencer Hasan Piker, who once said America deserved 9/11, then claimed that the Trump administration is not funding and keeping the southern border safe. The government announced in September that there have now been 16 straight months of zero releases at the southern border.

This is a completely unprecedented trend of record low border crossings. This decline, which has been sustained concurrently, has reached levels not seen in over 30 years. Confirmed daily apprehensions have dropped 94% from what they were during the Biden administration. Also, it’s important to point out that President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” allotted a total of $46.5 billion to build a “smart border wall.”

“You’ve got this tough guy attitude to immigration that’s not keeping us safe,” El-Sayed claimed during the debate. “In fact, it’s terrorizing folks in our streets. It’s not funding the southern border, which needs to be kept safe. But what it is doing — it’s weaponizing an agency of the government at the tune of Donald Trump and his goons.”
