Dem Politician in Deep Blue City Arrested on Corruption and Bribery Charges

A far-left Democratic city councilor in Boston was arrested on charges of siphoning tax dollars through a staff member in an effort to pay off personal debts.  U.S. attorney Joshua Levy announced that Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson, who was formerly an illegal immigrant to the United States, has been arrested and charged with five counts of aiding and abetting wire fraud and one count of aiding and abetting theft.

According to reports, Fernandes Anderson orchestrated a bonus payment of $13,000 to be made to a City Hall employee in which she received a kickback.  Apparently, Fernandes Anderson instructed the individual to meet her in the bathroom and deliver approximately $7,000 in cash to her.  The employee was described as someone “related to [Fernandes Anderson] but not an immediate family member.”

“At defendant Fernandes Anderson’s instructions, Fernandes Anderson and Staff Member A arranged to meet at a bathroom at City Hall where Staff Member A would hand approximately $7,000 in cash to Fernandes Anderson,” according to court documents. They further explain how the two exchanged communications about the drop, and “shortly following these texts, Staff Member A handed Fernandes Anderson Approximately $7,000 in cash at a bathroom in City Hall.”

At a press conference last week, Levy explained evidence indicates that Fernandes Anderson was enduring personal financial challenges.  This allegedly prompted her to increase her annual salary to $115,000 through illegal means rather “than find a legal means to pay off” her financial obligations.  Levy asserted that Fernandes Anderson violated her duty to serve her constituents.

“When her constituents elected Ms. Fernandez Anderson, she had a fundamental obligation to act with the utmost integrity,” Levy stated. “Public officials who line their pockets with taxpayer money erode the trust and confidence of the public and the officials who serve them. Public service is a privilege, and all of us in public service service have a duty to act with integrity and fairness in all that we do.”

The news has sparked extensive commentary from conservatives on social media who have longed opposed the Fernando Anderson’s politics. Conservative activist Andy Ngo wrote, “Tania Fernandes Anderson, a woke BLM Muslim former illegal migrant Democrat serving on the Boston City Council, has been arrested by the FBI after being indicted on five counts of aiding and abetting wire fraud and one count of aiding and abetting theft concerning a program receiving federal funds.”

He continued, “She allegedly hired a family member and funneled taxpayer funds to the person for which she would get cash kickbacks. They allegedly exchanged large sums of cash in the bathroom at Boston City Hall. Ms Fernandes Anderson made $115,000 a year on the city council. Democrats and leftists have long praised Ms Fernandes Anderson for her race-baiting identity politics in Boston, which plays well with white educated liberals.”

Anderson gained notoriety for a profane rant during a city council meeting in which she spoke up in defense of a leftist colleague facing rape allegations.  While shouting and slamming the table, she exclaimed, ” “What the f*** to I have to do to get respect from this council as a Black woman?”  Watch Fernandes Anderson in August 2022 below:
