Boston University assistant media technician Jared May has come under fire for a post on Bluesky that called out employees of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). May shared the names and images of six young men, in a poster that said “WANTED FOR TREASON” and “DEAD OR ALIVE.” The Boston University employee claimed they were carrying out a “coup.”
May has since deleted his LinkedIn account, on which his employment was listed as an assistant media technician in Boston University’s Questrom School of Business Susilo Business Center. The university responded to the post, stating that “the views expressed do not reflect the values of Questrom School of Business.”
“We are aware of a post made by an employee on his personal social media account. We do not comment on personnel matters,” a Boston University spokesperson explained to Breitbart News. “We want to state clearly and strongly that the views expressed do not reflect the values of Questrom School of Business,” they added.
Libs of TikTok called out the Bluesky post on X, initially writing, “This is the guy calling for DOGE employees to be killed. @FBI.” The account then followed up, “Meet Jared May, an assistant media technician at Boston University (@BUQuestrom). Jared called for DOGE employees to be killed. Boston University received millions of dollars in federal funding. Perhaps @DOGE should look into it.” See the controversial post below:
Elon Musk responded to the post, writing, “He has committed a crime.” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk posted on X, A Boston University employee, Jared May, has posted a call for six young DOGE employees to be murdered. Boston University should lose ALL federal grants and funding if May isn’t fired immediately.”
Furthermore, May’s post appears to have attracted the attention of law enforcement. Edward R. Martin Jr., the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, said in a statement on X, “Certain individuals and/or groups have committed acts that appear to violate the law in targeting DOGE employees.” He added, “We are in contact with FBI and other law-enforcement partners to proceed rapidly. We also have our prosecutors preparing.”

Martin previously indicated that his office would protect DOGE workers from threats and harassment as Musk carries out the agenda of the Trump administration to downsize the federal government and cut wasteful spending. “Dear @elon, Please see this important letter. We will not tolerate threats against DOGE workers or law-breaking by the disgruntled. All the best. Ed Martin,” the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia said.
“I recognize that some of the staff at DOGE has been targeted publicly. At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting the DOGE work and the DOGE workers,” Martin added. “Any threats, confrontations, or other actions in anyway that impact their work may break numerous laws. Let me assure you of this: we will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who impedes your work or threatens your people. We will not act like the previous administration who looked the other way as the Antifa and BLM [Black Lives Matter] rioters as well as thugs and guns trashed our capital city. We will protect DOGE and other workers no matter what.”
