A former MLB star recently praised President-elect Donald Trump after his landslide victory in the 2024 presidential election, labeling it the “dawn of a new era.” Jonathan Lucroy sounded off on the “anti-American” agenda that has come from the left in recent years, noting that Trump’s decisive victory will set the nation on the right track.
“It’s the dawn of a new era. What a blessing to live in this wonderful country where we can vote to make changes every 4 years,” Lucroy wrote, praising the democratic mechanisms of the Republic. He further applauded the “silent majority for” standing up to the radical woke ideology that has plagued society. “Silent majority spoke up last night. Vehemently rejecting the radical, anti-American policies of the socialist woke.”
The two-time MLB All-Star continued, “A commenter said last night that we ‘auto corrected’ as a nation. The people, WE the people, went and handled up on the plague that was upon us.” He added. “I’m so proud to be an American today. I look forward to watching Trump, Elon, RFK, and others clean up the swamp that is our government.”
Lucroy emphasized that the Democratic Party and its agenda were overwhelmingly rejected by the electorate, showing that most Americans side with the Make American Great Again platform. “Remember that if you voted for the other side, you were rejected. HARD, and by a SUPER MAJORITY. That means your opinions and emotions weren’t of the people as a whole,” he said. “Maybe it’s time to go home and look into the mirror. Maybe you are listening to the wrong voices. Be open, heal, and don’t be emotional about it.”
Several other prominent figures in professional athletics have spoken out in support of Donald Trump, including Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who praised Trump for his pro-life values as an outspoken Christian. Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked Butker, “You’re supporting Hawley, does this mean you’re supporting Donald Trump?”
Butker responded, “Well, I’m supporting the president that’s going to be the most pro-life president. I think Donald Trump…topic that is the most crucial topic for me. I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn, and that’s what we should prioritize, and that’s obviously what Senator Hawley is doing as a man of faith.”
Ingraham asker the kicker again, “Is there any equivocation about supporting Trump? I mean, were it not for Trump, Roe versus Wade would have not been overturned, obviously, right?” He said, ” I think you you have to vote for whoever’s going to be the most pro life, and we have to be prayerful men that put God first and I think that’s what’s going to be best for our country. Harrison.”
Legendary quarterback Brett Favre also endorsed Trump, speaking with him at a rally in Wisconsin before the election. “I can tell you one thing, I knew I would come back to Green Bay at various times, but I never thought I would come back in this setting,” he said. “There’s never been a more important time in our lives than right now in this election.” Favre added, “Much like the Packer organization, Donald Trump and his organization is a winner. The United States of America won with his leadership.”
