Posting on X, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino sounded off on the sort of public corruption that has been allowed in America, with “bad actors” pilfering public programs and draining billions of taxpayer dollars into their own pockets. Far from just decrying the problem, the Deputy Director announced that the FBI had cracked down on a massive corruption scheme.

For reference, the scheme commented upon by Deputy Director Bongino involved nearly a hundred doctors and hundreds of others pushing false claims on the government that let them steal nearly $3 billion in false claims alone, with total losses from the guilty parties eventually passing the $15 billion mark.

Beginning the post, Deputy Director Bongino said that he and Director Kash Patel are working tirelessly to discover what public corruption exists and hunt down the guilty parties. He said, “Public corruption will not be tolerated as the Director and I vigorously pursue bad actors who violated their oaths to all of us.”

Continuing, Bongino noted that the DOJ, FBI, and other federal agents had cracked down on a massive healthcare fraud scandal, saying, “We view the theft of public funds the same way. It’s a crime against all of us. Today, in conjunction with the DOJ and our federal partners, we are announcing the results from the largest healthcare fraud investigation, as measured by financial losses, in DOJ history.”

Explaining what they found, Bongino explained that the massive crackdown operation covered dozens of districts and found not just billions of dollars’ worth of false claims, but also fraudulent practices like illegal prescription pill distribution. He said, “The investigation spanned 50 federal districts, and resulted in nearly 3 billion dollars in false claims with over 15 million illegal distributions of pills.”

Further, he noted that hundreds of people were arrested in the operation, with nearly a hundred of them being doctors, and that the total cost of their illegal actions was stratospheric. He said, “We seized 245 million dollars, we charged 324 defendants, 96 medical professionals, and the intended losses from these bad actors approached 15 billion dollars.”

Concluding, the deputy director explained that he is focusing in the FBI on actually delivering results and that illegality will not be tolerated at all. He said, “Results matter. Talk is cheap. And this is not even the beginning of the beginning. If you’re stealing from the public, or violating your oath to serve, then we’re coming for you too. God bless America, and all those who defend Her. 🇺🇸”

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., described the operation as part of his agency’s goal of “making healthcare accessible and affordable to all Americans,” saying, “HHS will aggressively work with our law enforcement partners to eliminate the pervasive health care fraud that bedeviled this agency under the former administration and drove up costs.”

Further, Attorney General Pam Bondi added, much like Deputy Director Bongino, that this sort of public corruption will not at all be tolerated, saying, “Make no mistake – this administration will not tolerate criminals who line their pockets with taxpayer dollars while endangering the health and safety of our communities.”
