Congressman Tim Burchett (R-TN), known for his general adherence to MAGA policies, went absolutely ballistic in a video he released on Thursday, March 21, in which he claimed that the do-nothing RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) in the party have once again betrayed their voters, this time by needlessly handing power to Democrats.
Beginning, he explained that he stormed out of the committee hearing because those in charge had, absurdly, cut much-needed amendments as part of a backroom, secret deal with Democrats that is once again leaving Republican voters out to dry for no reason other than the usual sort of RINO cowardliness and contemptability.
He said, on that point, “Hey everybody, Tim Burchett. [I] just left committee…had some amendments that were cutting regulation things that we should, as Republicans, do.” Building on that, he emphasized that the problem here is back-room deals, not any big negotiation in which Republicans were actually involved. He said, “Because of back-room deals they [got] cut.”
Noting just how infuriating the whole situation is, Burchett revealed that the reason the needed amendments were cut from the bill is that a Democrat wanted them to be, and the RINOs went along with it. He said, “They won’t allow any amendments on the bill because a Democrat didn’t agree to it, so here we are in the majority, and we’re not allowed to do that.”
Still not done, he then noted that the Democrats obviously aren’t going to return the favor and let Republicans have veto power when they get back in charge. He said, “And I’ll guarantee you, when the Democrats are in the majority, which they very much well could be because of this kind of garbage, we’re going to be in the majority, you all have extended us an incredible gift, and we’re going to blow it, because we’re not acting like we’re in the majority.”
Emphasizing just how absurd, infuriating, and treacherous this situation is and the RINOs behind it are, the Congressman then argued, “We got opportunity, it’s not sexy, deals with bridges and things, anyway. The bill, the amendment did, and it, and we allow the Democrats to tell us what to do. It’s just unbelievable.”
Concluding, he argued that Republicans need to develop a spine and actually stand up to the Democrats for once, saying, “[At] some point we’re gonna have to get some guts. This town is crooked as a dog’s leg, and I’m disgusted. So, thank you all for sending me here. I really am glad you sent me here to this kind of stuff. I want to fight, and I’ll let them have it anyway.”
